Kelly Joe Turner, 61, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 17th, in Solomon, Kansas. He was born in Great Bend, Kansas on March 18, 1955, son of Cornelia Joyce (McBride) Turner and the late Ben Walter Turner.
Kelly served in the United States Navy. He had an associates degree in business and agriculture and worked as a trucker hauling agricultural products around the United States. He also worked for Sunflower Taxi. He was a jack of all trades.
He was a member at Salina Belmont Nazarene Church.
Kelly is survived by his mother Cornelia Turner of Salina; son John Turner, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; brothers, Harold Turner and wife Jayme, of Larned, Kansas, Kendall Turner, and wife Rhonda, of Larned, Kansas; sister, Brenda Adams, and husband Gregg, of Dyer, Indiana. He is also survived by grandchildren, Heaven, Neveah, Cuda and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Lonnie Dean Turner.
Memorial Service will be held at Salina Belmont Nazarene Church, Salina, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 with Rev. Josh Kilsch officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fairview Park Cemetery in St. John, Kansas.

Janice Austin McMillen, 82, passed away Dec. 18, 2016, at the Salina Presbyterian Manor. Born in Salina Aug. 31, 1934, Jan was the daughter of Leslie “Vet” and Martha Austin. She grew up in Salina with her sister Rosie and attended Franklin Grade School, Salina High School and Kansas State University.
At KSU she was a member of the Tri Delta sorority. She got a degree in early childhood education. On Feb. 12, 1956, she married Wesley McMillen and became a teacher while he was stationed in Delaware and Greenland with the United States Air Force. In 1964 they returned to Salina where they raised their children Julie and Matt.
Jan will be especially remembered for her quick wit, friendliness, and a positive outlook for life with many interests and activities. She enjoyed music, art, social events, gardening, reading, pets, and traveling. She was a member and volunteer of P.E.O., Charities League, Tri Delta Alumnae, Salina Public Library, and Meals on Wheels. She spent many days at the Salina Country Club playing tennis and lunching weekly with her close girlfriends. At the First Presbyterian Church she was a longtime member of the choir. Her knowledge of movie and television trivia was impressive and always a beloved topic with friends.
Jan is survived by: daughter, Julie Halfmann and husband Rick Fugier of Denver, Colo.; son, Matt and wife Gina of Norman, Okla.; four grandchildren; Mason Halfmann (Catie) of Newport Beach, Calif., Nancie Halfmann of Denver, Alex and Nathan McMillen of Norman; and great-granddaughter, Goldie Halfmann.
She is preceded in death by: parents, Martha and Vet Austin; husband, Wesley McMillen; sister, Rosie Pettle; brother-in-law, Jerry Pettle; and nephew, David Pettle.
A celebration of her life will take place at the First Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 with a reception to follow at the Salina Country Club.

MARION – Sylvia C. Winchester, age 90, passed away December 19, 2016, at Comfort Care Homes in Newton, Kansas. She was born August 29, 1926, in Latimer, Kansas. She was the daughter of Walter and Stella (Buethe) Tiede. She was a graduate of Herington High School. On December 24, 1943, she was united in marriage to Steve R. Winchester. She was an prepared income tax returns. She also had owned and operated a shoe store and a donut shop. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Steve Winchester, a son John Clarence Winchester, son-in-law Jim Goddard; and 4 siblings. Louise Gunter, 90 years died December 20, 2016 at in , KS. She was born on May 5, 1926 in Aurora, Kansas, the daughter of John and Mary (Linne) Blochlinger
Louise was raised in Meredith Township in Cloud County. She married George Gunter on May 17, 1944. She worked for Scott’s Specialty, cooked for Park Villa Nursing Home and baked wedding cakes. George preceded her in death on August 1, 2003. Louise was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Altar Society and sacristan of St. Anthony. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Paul and Gregory Gunter; seven brothers; four sisters; a granddaughter; four great-grandchildren and a son in law.

Aaron Thomas Jamison was born to Newton and Elma Jamison in Quinter KS on May 18, 1931. He passed away at the age of 85 at his home in Lawrence, KS where he and his wife Dorothy have lived for the last three years on December 19, 2016. The Jamison family moved to Iowa shortly after Tom was born where they spent two years before moving to Denver CO in 1937. In 1943 the family moved back to Quinter KS where he graduated from Quinter High School in 1949.
He was joined in marriage to Dorothy Kysar from Quinter, KS on May 27, 1951 and they celebrated 65 years of marriage in 2016. Tom and Dorothy moved to a farm near Hoxie KS in 1951. They were blessed with the birth of their son Jon in 1952. Tom farmed and raised cattle until he retired, and was honored over the years with several land conservation and water management awards. He was active in Sheridan County over the years, serving two terms on the Hoxie High School Board and was the chairman of the board of Sheridan County Commissioners. Tom loved to travel with Dorothy and loved the southwest US states where they took numerous vacations over the years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and was an avid reader of world history, geography and biblical history. His favorite countries to visit were Israel, Italy and Scotland. The most important thing to him was his faith and his love for his immediate and extended family and he cherished his relationship with his friends and neighbors in Sheridan and Gove counties.
Tom will be remembered as a good neighbor, a man always willing to lend a hand to those in need and his honesty, compassion and friendship will be remembered by all that he touched over his lifetime.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of Lawrence, KS; his son Jon and wife Vicki of Lawrence, KS; grandson Joshua of Lawrence, KS; grandaughter Allison of Chicago, IL; brother Marlan Jamison of Quinter, KS; brothers Richard Jamison and Ronald Jamison of Regina, NM; and sister and brother-in-law Dyann and Clair Armstrong of Wauseon, OH; sister-in-law Marian Shaw of Oxnard, CA, sister-in-law Kathleen Howard of Topeka, KS, brother and sister in-law Douglas and Patricia Kysar of Palco, KS and brother and sister-in-law Gilbert and Penny Kysar of Olathe, CO. Tom was blessed with 23 nieces and nephews who he loved dearly, their children and his numerous friends and neighbors of Sheridan and Gove Counties in northwestern KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Newton and Elma Jamison.

Tom joined the Dunkard Brethren Church in Quinter, KS in 1948 and was a faithful member of the church serving as a deacon and leading Sunday School classes over the years, he had great faith in God and lived his life by example.

Delmar Jay Marston passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas at the age of 91. He was born on March 15, 1925 in the family home in Plainville to the late Charles and Anna (Johnson) Marston. He grew up in Plainville and at the age of 18 was drafted into the Army during WWII. He later earned and received his GED High School Diploma. On May 20, 1949 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Jean McGhghy at the First Christian Church in Plainville.
In his younger days, Delmar worked as a butcher at the slaughterhouse in Plainville. Later he went to work in the oilfield, eventually retiring with Getty Oil Company. After retirement, in order to keep himself busy, he purchased a farm, hand digging 3 wells on the property, along with regular chores and maintenance. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, always bringing home an array of wildlife for Dorothy to fix, although she had a zero tolerance policy when it came to turtles.
An active member of the church, Delmar had a special place in his heart for church camps, and the kids who attended camp every year. Working at both Cedar Bluff and Webster Lake Christian camps, he helped build infrastructure, made repairs, and chopped and split truckloads of firewood so the campgrounds would always be fully supplied. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with friends, and neighbors.
Delmar is survived by his son Roger Marston and wife Kathy of Cheney; daughters Delma Miller and husband Ron of Great Bend, and Monica Eaton and husband Denis of Antioch, CA; brother John “Jack” Marston of Russell; twin sister Doris Casey of Plainville; sister-in-law Donna Maggert and husband Rick of Broomfield, CO; six grandchildren, Stephanie Marston, Dan Miller, Tammie Fisher, Jeremy Miller and wife Lana, Hannah Laurin and husband Jason, and Joe Miller; thirteen great-grandchildren, Joshua Miller, Zach Miller, Chris Miller, Weslee Hutchison, Cody Hutchison, Ryan Fisher, Tyler Fisher, Hayley Osbment, Alexis Doonan, Austin Doonan, MeAnna Laurin, Jason Laurin, and Eden Miller; twelve great-great-grandchildren, including Kaiden, Copeland, Zayden, Max, MariAnna, and Jeremiah, along with six others; nieces Patricia Ryan and Deborah Maggert; nephews Tom Casey, Paul “Michael” McGhghy, David Marston, Wayne McGhghy, Mark Marston and David Maggert.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Anna Marston; wife Dorothy Marston; infant son William J. Marston; brother Fred Marston; brothers-in-law Don Casey and Richard “Galen” McGhghy; and sister-in-law Louise Marston.
Delmar was a man of strong stature and gentle heart. He showed us every day how to live out our days, fighting the good fight, finishing the race, and keeping the faith. Although we will miss him greatly, we rejoice with him as he enters the gates of heaven hearing the words of his Lord, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at First Christian Church in Plainville. Burial will follow in the Plainville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00pm.

Ronny Joe Mayberry, 55, of Russell, Kansas passed away
Monday, December 19, 2016 at his home in Russell.
Ronny was born June 19, 1961 in Borger, Texas, the son of Jerry and Alta (Golden) Mayberry. At a young age his family moved to Russell. He grew up and attended schools in Russell.
Ronny started working in the oil patch at a young age. He started out working on pulling units and eventually became a transport driver. He also was an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed the open road especially on his motorcycle. He enjoyed Harleys, cars and trucks, and working on them. When he was younger he enjoyed hunting. Later in life his love was his grandchildren and watching them grow up.
Surviving family include his daughter, Jewel Mayberry of Russell, Kansas; two sons, Jason Mayberry (Brittney) of Russell, Kansas and Ronny Austin Mayberry of Hays, Kansas; step parents, Kenny and Doris Blanke of Russell, Kansas; brothers, Jerry Terral Mayberry of Ceiling, Oklahoma, and Terral Mayberry of Borger, Texas, Haley Mayberry of Borger, Texas; step brothers, David Blanke and Gene Blanke; step sisters, Heidie Blanke and Star Blanke; and fourteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Rick Mayberry and Jerry Don Mayberry.
A Gathering Celebrating Ronny’s Life will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016, from 6:00 PM to 7 PM at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell.
