Derek Wheeler, 18, of Salina, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013. He was born December 6, 1994 in Salina. Derek graduated from Salina Central High School in May of 2013 and worked for Sonic Drive-In on Santa Fe. He had planned to attend Johnson County Community College in the fall.
Derek was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Wheeler and grandmother, Norma Huber. Survivors include his brother, Nathan Wheeler and father, Don Gardner.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Grace Baptist Temple, 400 E. Crawford, Salina. Private inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Derek Wheeler Memorial Fund in care of Sunflower Bank, 3025 Courtland Circle, Salina, KS 67401 or Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina.
