harder_265x398Donald (Jack) Harder, 83, of Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away Saturday, March 30th, 2013 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Jack was born in Wells, Kansas on June 9, 1929, and son of the late Veva (Pence) and Will Harry Harder.

Jack spent his career as a truck driver and enjoyed many years of ranching. He touched the lives of people around him. He was a man of honor who always put his family and friends before himself. Jack will be greatly missed for his wisdom, love and the strength he provided to everyone. Thank you Dad; for always being there for all of us.

Survivors include four daughters, Teresa Shuck, of Spearfish, South Dakota; Phyllis Liggett and her companion Richard Rodriguez, of Whitewood, South Dakota; Judy Remington, of Whitewood, South Dakota; Debra Dillon and husband Donald Dillon, of Rapid City, South Dakota; son, Dale Harder and his companion Kathy Eastman, of Whitewood, South Dakota. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family would also like to recognize and give special thanks to Paul Roberts of Clay Center, Kansas and Joe Watkins of Minneapolis, Kansas for being  great friends and making Jack part of their families.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Jean (Johnston) Harder; sons, Steven Harder, and Thomas Harder.

In Lieu of a Service a Celebration of Life is being held in Jack’s honor in Sturgis, SD at the Woodland Park, Stock Shelter on July 6, 2013 from 1:00 Pm to 5:00 PM. Everyone who knew Jack is welcome to attend.

Guadalupe Gomez, 64, of Salina, died Friday, June 21, 2013. He was born Aug. 8, 1948, in Guadalupe Vic Meoqui Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Felipe and Dolores (Nieto) Gomez.

Survivors include his wife, Elia (Garcia) Gomez; son, Lucio (Elizabeth) Gomez; daughter, Maria (Samuel) Gomez, all of Salina; sister, Maria Elena Gomez; brother, Jose Gomez; two grandchildren, Marissa and Freddy Gomez; and many nieces, nephews and family members.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. today, June 23, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

Visitation: 4 p.m. today, June 23, at Sacred Heart Cathedral with a vigil at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina.
