lavonne_332x360LaVonne Reifsteck, 65, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Monday, July 8th, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

LaVonne was born in Syracuse, Kansas on November 21, 1947, daughter of the late Perry Eldon and Luella Pearl (Coleman) Hamlin.

She was a member of Crossroads Church of Salina, and was the Children’s church director and taught Sunday school for more than 40 years.

LaVonne was a speech and language pathologist for 36 years with the Central Kansas Cooperative in association with USD 305.

LaVonne loved all of the children her life touched, through her church or her profession. She always loved to be around children, and treated them all as her own.

She was the wife of Raymond Reifsteck, they were married June 4, 1970 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Reifsteck; three daughters, Shaila Reifsteck and husband Chip Morris, of Matthews, North Carolina, Nolita LaVoie and husband Dan, of Sabetha, Kansas, Arielle Hewitt and husband Daniel, of Salina, Kansas; sisters, Lynda Hazen and husband Tex, of Holcomb, Kansas, Carlin Chance  and her husband Lowell, of Millington, Tennessee; grandsons, Andrew Hewitt, Trevin LaVoie, Logan LaVoie; and granddaughters, Codie Hewitt, and Savannah Reifsteck.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, July 12, 2013 at Crossroads Church, Salina, Kansas, with Pastor Ron Bowell officiating.

At the family’s request there will be no visitation as cremation has been chosen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crossroads Church, 1125 W. South Street, Salina, Kansas.
