Violet Maxine Wernecke, 90, died Nov. 29, 2017 at her daughters home in Brookville. She was born March 19, 1927 in White City, KS, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Mott) Wernecke. Violet was retired but previously worked for Stiefel’s clothing store, Tony’s Pizza and then later at Walmart.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her son Richard, her brother Robert and her parents.
She is survived by her children: Sue (John) Deters of Park City, Sidney Wernecke of Salina, Sondra Wiegand of Salina, Mark (Jenny)Wernecke of Oklahoma City, Wesley Wernecke (Sharon) of Salina, Robin Nash of Brookville, David Wernecke of Shawnee.
She has one brother and two sisters: Robert (deceased), Wisconsin, Carolyn (Ron) Allendorfer, Tennessee, and Jean (Ed) Blanton, Texas
She has 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 at the Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Burial will be in the White City Cemetery, White City, Ks. at 12:30 pm with lunch to follow at 1:00 pm at the First Christian Church in White City. Visitation will be on Sunday at the Ryan Mortuary from 5 until 8:00 pm that evening.
