Jack L. Madden

Jack L. Madden, 82, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2017, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital. He was a retired Vice President for Farmers Alliance Insurance Company.

He was born on April 7, 1935, in Stafford, KS, the son of Harry G. and Myrtis (Sims) Madden. He graduated from Dodge City High School and Dodge City Community College. He then graduated from Fort Hays State University and was working on his Master’s degree.

On June 14, 1958, Jack was united in marriage to Bertha “Bertie” Louise Kramer in Wichita, KS.

Jack was a United States Army Veteran and was a member of V.F.W. Post #2715 and American Legion Post #24. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 59 years, Bertie of the home, and son, Kenyon Madden of McPherson, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Frank Madden and Joe Madden, and sister, Helen Hall.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, December 4, 2017, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson with Fr. Hien Nguyen as celebrant.

Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 6, at Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Fort Dodge, KS.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or V.F.W. Post #2715 in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
