Florence D. Shogren, 98, of Lindsborg, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Bethany Home. Florence was born April 14, 1919 in rural McPherson County, to the late Robert and Daveta (Childs) Eklund.
Florence was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, and was very active in various ladies groups over the years. She was primarily a homemaker and caregiver. She did work for a time as a secretary.
On Ocotber 17, 1942, Florence married Everette Shogren in Assaria, KS. Everertte preceded her in death in 1998.
Survivors include her sons; Richard (Marilyn) Shogren, of Salina, Stephen (Stormy) Shogren, of Wichita; daughter, Kathy Shogren, of Assaria, KS; son, Wayne McMurray, of Bixby, OK; as well as 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Florence is preceded in death by her parents, husband Everette; daughter, Melba Shogren; sister, Jane McMurray; and brothers Kenneth “Gene” Eklund and Robert Eklund.
Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm, Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Christians Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Lindsborg. Private family interment will take place prior to the funeral.
