Daniel R. Fishburn

Daniel RFishburn, 60, of Salina, passed away Tuesday December 12, 2017. Daniel was born November 5, 1957 in Salina.

Daniel was a loving Husband, Father, Son and Uncle. He was proud of his profession as a plumber, for he learned it from his father since he was 14 years old; making the trade a practice for 43 years.

Survivors include his wife; Bethanne Fishburn, children; Chance N. Fishburnand daughter; Pippa M. M. Fishburn, all of the home, Daniel’s mother; Norma M. Fishburn of Salina, his sisters; Cinda L. Hoover of Andover, MN., Angela L. Fishburn of Salina, his friend/ brother, Bryan Frazier of Salina and his brother, Kevin W. Fishburn of Salina, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond W. Fishburn, Uncles, Kenneth, Thomas “Tommy”, William “Bill” Fishburn, Jack Herman “Buger Red” and Aunts, Helen Kaufman and Peggy Westerman, Grandparents; Glenn and Jesse (Roach) Reed and Grandma Mary Fishburn.

Daniel enjoyed playing golf with his sister Cinda. He enjoyed fishing, collecting antiques, sitting out on the front porch with his Mom and spending time with family and friends.

He was a member of the NAACP, Pipe Fitters Union, Master Angler and received a Master Angler Award for catching the largest wide-mouth bass in the State of Kansas (1985).

Dan was a kind and gentle man. He was inspirational, insightful, caring, understanding, big-hearted and sensitive; a “rescuer” to all those around him. He possessed the character of perseverance, strength and was a confidant and a very loving person.

The family will be conducting a private memorial service at a later date.

Memorials will be made to Daniel’s daughter; Pippa M. M. Fishburn’s Education Fund in care of Roselawn Mortuary, PO Box 2322, Salina, KS 67402.
