Robert Eugene Stover was born October 15, 1953 in Caldwell, Idaho, and passed away December 17, 2017 in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 64.
Growing up in the Downs, Kansas area, he graduated from Downs High School. After high school he joined the Army, and later attended NCK Vo-Tech school for auto mechanics. He spent years seeing the country driving trucks and running heavy equipment building roads.
In his free time, Bob had a passion for cars – either working on them or racing them, as well as fishing, hunting, and watching wrestling.
He was united in marriage on January 17, 1979 to Janace Emily Wright. They spent more than 17 years of marriage together until she passed away in June, 1996.
Along with Janace, he was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mable (Cox) Stover.
Bob is survived by four children – Shannon Wright, Misty Kadel-Howland and husband Bud, Amber Preston, and Michael Stover; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren, all of Beloit; sister, Carol O’Toole and husband Chuck of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; cousin, Karen Cox of Downs; companion, Peggy Daley; and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Friday, December 22 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home in Beloit followed by burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Cawker City. Visitation will be from 1-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Funeral Expense Fund.
