Betty grew up in Plainville and graduated from Plainville High School with the Class of 1948. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher. For 25 of her earlier years the children in the Plainville schools got to enjoy her cooking, as she was a school cook. Betty brought love to everything she did, including being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The time she cherished the most was spent surrounded with family and friends, especially when grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along.

She is preceded in death by her parents Forrest and Thelma Burkholder; and brother Forrest “Bud” Burkholder.
Betty was a woman of strong faith, abiding hope, and deep love. Her great love and faith in God was not only a constant source of strength for herself, but also for all who knew her. She taught us by example how to trust in God and care for one another. Her legacy of love, care, and devotion will remain with us forever.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at the First Christian Church in Plainville. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00pm-8:00pm also at the church. Burial will follow in the Plainville Cemetery.
