Marilyn B. Norman

Marilyn B. Norman, 94, of Lyons, passed away February 3, 2018 at Hospital District 1 of Rice County, Lyons. She was born September 12, 1923 in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lee and Mary Olive Freeman Brock. She graduated from Oklahoma University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in music. Marilyn has resided in Lyons and Sterling since 1988, formerly of Tulsa, OK. She was a homemaker, music teacher and map draftsman. Marilyn was a member of Eastern Star, First Christian Church, Pawnee, OK., Alpha Chi Omega, Rice County Food Bank, Rice County Thrift Shop, National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and attended Church of Christ, Lyons. On January 27, 1945, Marilyn was united in marriage with Robert K. Norman in Pawnee, OK. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1993. She is also preceded in death by her parents. Marilyn is survived by a son, Dr. Lee J. Norman and wife Patti, of Lyons; and sister, Ina Clair Sayre of Ottawa, KS.; grandchildren, Kenneth Norman of Alden, KS., and Rachel and Temple Link of Chase, KS.; great grandchildren, Gideon and Cyrus Norman, and Drake, Tayla and Maddox Link. A private family inurnment will take place at the Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, OK. Memorials can be made to Rice County Food Bank in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
