Dora Lee Stuart Morrell was born December 24, 1928, in Beloit, Ks., to John and Nellie (Norton) Morrell. There were two brothers and a sister to welcome her to the family and she would later be joined by two more sisters and a brother. She attended Beloit schools, where by all accounts she was a model student, partially due to the fact that her father was the Superintendent of Schools.  She was Football Homecoming Queen. She peacefully left us on February 13, 2018, just after she celebrated her 89th. Birthday.

Dora Lee and Richard Williams were married July 30, 1966 in a marriage that not only had a beautiful bride, but also included an added bonus of five young children that Dick immediately claimed, raised and delighted in all their accomplishments. Dora Lee was a special Mother to her children and devoted wife to Dick. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in July of 2017.

Dora Lee, and her name was Dora Lee and not Dora, worked for 20 years at the Guaranty State Bank. Although she was not a member of many clubs, she was an active member of Qui Bene’, and enjoyed playing pinochle at the country club, with many of her friends. Every year she and Dick would take a long vacation, and traveled from coast to coast. She kept a journal of every destination, hotel and cost of every trip. They especially enjoyed the times they traveled with Doris and Bob Kirgis. She loved music, with the songs in ‘The Sound of Music’ being her favorites. And everyone in her family was awakened by a phone call on their birthday from Mom or Grandma Dora Lee singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to you.

She was a member of Beloit’s First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed walking at a very fast pace, reading, baking, and entertaining all her family at her house for any holiday. After she retired there was coffee for family and friends every Saturday at her house, and later, the 2 o’clock coffee time was held at the Banner, and most recently at Gray Drug every day. The only thing that could cut this coffee time short was a hair appointment.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Keith and Kenneth Morrell, and daughter Terri Neubert. She is survived by her husband, Richard Williams and children Kathy (Mike) Thompson, Nancy Wilson, and Jim Wilson, all of Beloit, Ann (Mike) Popp of Wichita and son in law David Neubert of Austin Texas. She is also survived by sisters Betty Lou Biddinger, Marilyn Greif, Ethel (Kenny) Johnson and brother Dick (Sally) Morrell. She has seven Grandchildren and six Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Thursday, February 15 at the Beloit First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Wednesday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or the Beloit First United Methodist Church.
