Quenten L. Swenson

Quenten L. Swenson, 95, of Salina, passed away Thursday Feb. 15, 2018 in Lindsborg. He was born April 8, 1922, to Herman G. and Alice M.(Fredrickson) Swenson, at Lindsborg.

He graduated from Smolan High School and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Salina. Quenten served in the Army Air Corp from 1942-46 at Sherman Field, Ft. Leavenworth, and at Hamilton Field AFB, San Rafael, Calif. He married H. Irene Swenson-McClure in 1947 in Salina where they owned and operated a farming operation with their two sons. He served on the Board of Directors of the Saline County Farm Bureau, USD 307 School Board, and was a member of the 81-40 Riding Club and the North Central Kansas Antique Auto Club.

He is survived by: his two sons, Dennis (Doris), and Galen both of Salina; granddaughter, Sara; sister, Georgiana Emery of Monarch Beach, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Quenten was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; a son, Virgil; and brothers, Leon, and Roscoe.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with family present 6:30-8 p.m.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 255 S. 7th St., Salina. Private interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.
