Viola M. “Dolly” Harrison

Viola M. “Dolly” Harrison, 95, of Sterling, passed away February 18, 2018 at Sterling Presbyterian Manor. She was born on January 3, 1923 near Campo, Colorado, the daughter of James R. and Levree (King) Fimple. Dolly graduated from Sterling High School with the class of 1941. She was a housewife and worked alongside her husband for 69 years until his death. Dolly was a member of the United Methodist Church, Alden. On March 9, 1942, Dolly was united in marriage with Rodney “Beebe” Harrison in Sterling, KS. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2011. She is also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and Rufus Fimple; grandson, Michael Langel; and son-in-law, Ronald Langel. She is survived by her three daughters, Carol Langel of Alden, KS, Pam and Bill Boekhaus of Richfield, KS, and Sue and Kim Goebel of Overland Park, KS; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, Alden with Pastor Rob Bolton officiating. Burial will be at the Sterling Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling, with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Memorials can be made to the United Methodist Church, Alden, Sterling Presbyterian Manor, or Hospice of Reno County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
