Julie Lynette Cott

Council Grove – Julie Lynette Cott, 44 of Council Grove, died Thursday, February 15, 2018 at her father’s home in Topeka.  Julie was born March 9, 1973 in Council Grove. Ronald E. Cott and Alice Neff McLain gave her life, she was raised by her grandparents Quillar Roy Cott and Irene Dixon Cott.

Julie attended Alta Vista grade school. She graduated from Council Grove high school in 1992. Julie was an Office Manager at Quality Profile Services in Council Grove.  She was part of the Patient Family Advisory Council at Morris County Hospital.

When Julie was younger she was a wonderful pianist. She participated in 4-H, which gave her the opportunity to fine her many talents, some of which were a love of animals, cooking and baking.

She loved being a grandmother to Carly and Aunt Fruitty to her many nieces and nephews. Her smile would light up a room, her heart was genuine and true.  She made many friends who loved her and cherished her.  We want to thank especially Jeff Pio for his care and support of Julie.

Her family includes parents Ron(Carol) Cott, Topeka, Alice (Mac) McLain, Wamego, son Tyler Welcher, granddaughter Carly Welcher (mom Jessica Baker) Council Grove, uncle Steve (Sally) Cott, Council Grove, cousin Tyson (Amy) Cott, nieces Taylor, Michelle and nephew Bryce, Council Grove, cousin Stacy (Tim) Elstun Council Grove, nephews Darrin, Jagger & Connor, nieces Kierra, Jessa &  Brenna, sister Corie Reed, Manhattan, niece Caylee Asebedo, brother Casey (Jessica) Reed, Ft. Knox Ky., nieces and nephews, Cassidy (Ryan) Oswald, Cyla, Cason Camdyn and Croix, step-brother Roger (Rebekah) McLain, Houston, TX.,

She was preceded in death by son Braden Shade (father Albert Shade), grandparents Quillar and Irene Cott, grandparents Herman and Lillie Neff, uncle Harold Neff.

At Julie’s request she was cremated.  Funeral services will be held at Zeiner Funeral Home, 137 N Union, Council Grove on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10:00am immediately following the service there will be a family service at the Sunny Slope cemetery in Council Grove.
