haw40503Paula Rose Haworth of Salina passed away May 3rd, 2014 at the age of 56. Paula was born to Isadore E. and Ruth J. (Mugridge) Bombardier in Concordia, Kansas on August 29, 1957.

She graduated from Concordia High School in 1975 and went on to graduate with her Associate of Arts degree from Cloud County Community College in 1977 and her Bachelor of Science degree inInterior Design from Kansas State University in 1980.

On October 16, 1981 she married Bob Haworth at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas.

After graduating from College, Paula was the show room manager at American Electric Company, worked at Don Loader Interiors, and started Paula’s Interior Designs. For many years Paula was the interior designer with Lee Haworth Construction Co. Inc.

Paula was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and various committees. She was a volunteer for the YMCA, USD 305, and a lifetime member of Girls Scouts. Paula was a board member for the Saline County Republican Women, CAPS association, Vice Chairperson of the Saline County Republican party, and the Salina Red Cross. She was a lifetime member of the VFW, and a member of the Kansas State University Alumni Association. She is past President of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and held various offices with preceptor Delta Xi chapter. Paula was a member and held office positions on several committees within the Salina Regional Health Center Auxiliary, and was a member of Salina Regional Hospital Foundation Board. She volunteered as a counselor at Tammy Walker Cancer Center. Paula loved helping others, caring for others, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Isadore (Izzy), and her father-in-law, Lee Haworth.

Survivors include her husband, Bob, Salina; daughter, Sara Guidry and husband Parker, and granddaughter Cecilia, Shawnee, sons Kyle and wife Ciara, Beatrice, Nebraska, and Ryan Haworth, Salina, mother Ruth Bombardier, mother-in-law Louise Haworth, sister Linda West and husband Steve, Colwich, brother Vince Bombardier and wife Jan, Benton, sister-in-law Joanne Rodecap and husband Doug, Topeka, nieces Amy Summers, Stephanie Huddleston and husband Scott, Stacie Lopez and husband Ruben, Alissa Janey and husband Greg, nephews Marcus West and wife Sarah, Aaron Bombardier and fiancé XiaoWei, Shawn West, and Kevin Bombardier.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, with a vigil service at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak Lane, Salina. Burial will be in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Barbara “Bobbie” Bowles, 70, Salina, died Friday, May 2, 2014. She was born October 17, 1943 to Bob and Marie (Jennings) McKim. Bobbie raised her family in Salina and worked as a title officer for Salina Auto Auction. Preceded in death: her parents.
Survived by: son, Brian (Laura) of Minneapolis, Kan.; daughter, Tracy London of Tamarac, Fla.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; long-time companion, Larry Meyer of Salina; and brother Bill McKim (Phyllis) of Bennington.
It was Bobbie’s wish that no formal services be held for her. Instead, herfamily plans to gather and share stories to remember her as they celebrate her life.
