Connie Marie Blank, 79, passed away March 5, 2018, peacefully in the comfort of her home. She was born October 12, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Arlene Smith. Her dad, Arthur Minard, joined the family when she was seven years old. She attended school for most of her youth in Potwin, Kansas, and graduated from Bushton High School in 1956. She married Lawrence Blank in 1957, they were married for 28 years. She was a long time resident of Lyons, Kansas. She had several interesting careers including welding for Hesston Corporation and Lyons Manufacturing. She was a dispatcher and process server for the Rice County Sheriff. Connie was always young at heart and never tired of reminding others of the mischievous adventures of her youth. She is survived by her son, John A. Blank his wife Toni of Bethany, Oklahoma; daughter Jane Montgomery and her husband Steven of Spring Hill, Kansas; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday evening, March 8, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 at Birzer Funeral Home. A celebration of life with be held Friday, March 9, 2018, at 1:00 at Birzer Funeral Home, 214 W Avenue South, Lyons, Kansas. Burial service will be 3:30 P.M., Friday, March 9,2018 at Potwin Cemetery, Potwin, Kansas. Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations to Rice County Meals on Wheels.
