Lenora L. Claypool, 95, of Marquette, KS and formerly of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2018, surrounded by family at Riverview Estates, Marquette. She had worked at the Marquette Farmers Co-Op and was a former County Treasurer for McPherson County from 1967 to 1985.
Lenora was born on July 25, 1922, in McPherson County, the daughter of Albert and Dora (Olson) Cedarholm. She graduated from Marquette High School and attended business school in Salina. Lenora was united in marriage to Jack M. Claypool on April 14, 1945, in Lindsborg, KS. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1978.
She was a member of Marquette United Methodist Church and former member of the Marquette Town and Country Club.
Survivors include: daughter-in-law, Ardis Claypool of Marquette, KS; grandson, Michael Claypool of Kansas City, MO; brother, H. Eugene Cedarholm of Rochester, MN; sister-in-law, Rozann Cedarholm of Lindsborg, KS; one nephew; and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; sons, Dennis R. Claypool and Richard “Dick” M. Claypool; brother, Vincent Cedarholm; sister, Doris Christenson; and granddaughter, Terri A. Claypool.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, March 23, 2018, at Marquette United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeffrey Graber officiating. Burial will follow at Marquette Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Marquette United Methodist Church in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
