Michael J. Vaughn, 68 of Abilene passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Abilene. He was born in Abilene October 16, 1949 in Abilene, the son of Marvin and Betty (Putnam) Vaughn. Michael grew up in Dickinson County and attended the local schools and graduated from Chapman High School in 1968. He was united in marriage to Jolene Medlock July 1, 1973 in Abilene. She preceded him in death October 1, 2009. He worked for ADM as a Pellet Mill Operator.
Michael is survived by his three children: Amber Vaughn of Abilene; Travis Vaughn of Spokane, Washington and Richard Vaughn of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Four grandchildren. Two sisters: Karen Geering of Abilene and Joyce Stoneberger and husband Jack of Abilene, and half-brother, Paul Wycoff and wife Vicky of Harker Heights, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Jolene.
The family has chosen cremation. Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 6-7 at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home of Abilene. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials be given to the Hospice of Dickinson County. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home of Abilene.
