Arlen D. Appleby, age 63, entered into rest on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Sunset Home Inc., in Concordia, Kansas. He was born March 5, 1955 in Concordia, Kansas to E.W. and Dollie (Kearn) Appleby.Arlen was a 1973 graduate of Concordia High School.
He served in the United States Army from 1974-1980 and was honorably discharged.
He married Peggy Hale and they later divorced. He then married Cindy Adkins Ruane in Concordia, Kansas and she preceded him in death.
Arlen was a laborer in the Concordia community where he worked in a variety of jobs.
He loved to fish, oldies rock music, being outdoors and most of all spending time with his beloved family.
Arlen is survived by his 2 sons, Curtis Appleby (Tracy), Scandia, KS.; Jason Appleby (Amber), White City, KS.; sister, Marsha Smith, Glasco, KS.; 4 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Cindy, sister, Cynthia Appleby.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be held at a later time in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Ames, Kansas.
