Council Grove – In loving memory of Edgar Lloyd Tyler who passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at his home in Council Grove, Kansas.

Lloyd was born June 13, 1932 in Cedar Point, Kansas to Edgar Lloyd Tyler II and Opal Heckendorn.  He married his loving spouse Mary Jane Graham on February 7, 1958 in Marion, Kansas.

Lloyd served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He came home and was a bull rider on the rodeo circuit for a few years.  His passion was cowboying and ranching, which he said “A career is not always about the money, choose a path that you will enjoy and love to do every day”.  With his choice of ranching, he passed on knowledge and life lessons “HIS LEGACY” to family and friends.

He loved his family and was actively involved in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren lives, where you would see him on the sidelines supporting sporting events, school concerts and programs, and numerous other activities.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

He is survived by 5 daughters and their spouses and 1 son; Roxy and Robert Rowton of Woodbridge, VA, Ronda Tyler, of Council Grove, KS, Russell Tyler of Cheyenne, WY, Regina Glessner, Grand Prairie, TX and Grant Glessner of Alta Vista, KS, Rita and Denver Oliver, of Dwight, KS, and Rachel and Ron Coyne of Trappe, MD.  He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and spouses; Brandon Glessner and Melissa Bacon; Jesse and Ashley Oliver, Audra and Joshua Noone; Kurtis and Kim Glessner, Cassie and Patrick Worrall, Ashley Oliver and Tyler Coyne; 9 great grandchildren; Ethan Bacon and Avia Glessner, Trinity Murphy, Cadie and Mary Angela Glessner, Timothy and Daniel Worrall and Sutton and Addie Grace Noone; 2 sisters; Sylvia Landsberry and Rachel Potter.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Council Grove/Dunlap United Methodist Church. A private family inurnment will be in Strong City Cemetery on Sunday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.  They may be sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, PO Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846.
