Lois Vivian Holt

Lois Vivian Holt, 83, of Salina, passed away May 1, 2018. She was born Feb. 7, 1935 on the family farm at Wilsey, Kan., the second daughter of James Louis Victor and Lena Cleo (Camp) Roy.

She graduated from Wilsey High School, Newman Hospital School of Nursing, and Kansas Wesleyan University. She married Larry Holt, Sept. 10, 1955, at the Wilsey Methodist Church. Lois was active in her nursing career for 44 years. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Salina and had the 3-year-old class for many years.

She is survived by: her husband, Larry; sister, Ruby Hertlein (John); in-laws, Jauneta Whittington, and Rosenlee Holt (Twila); many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and one special cousin, Eleanor Phillips, is considered a sister.

She was proceeded in death by: her parents; oldest sister, Elmina Karras (Chris); in-laws, Solen and Lillian Holt, Norman Holt (Ilene), Alvern Holt, and Mildred Landis (Dick).

Services with be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 7, at First Baptist Church, Salina, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will follow at the Wilsey Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Arrangements by Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

The family suggests memorials may be sent to: the First Baptist Church, 843 Lewis, Salina KS 67401, the Wilsey Methodist Church, 219 N 7th St, Wilsey, KS 66873, or the ESU Department of Nursing to support scholarships, 1127 Chestnut St, Emporia, KS 66801.
