Dolores Ann Bell was born November 16, 1944, one of six children to Ralph and Marie Pientke Lorson in Salina, Kansas. She died Friday, May 11, 2018 at her home in Ellsworth, Kansas at the age of 73 years, 5 months, and 25 days.
She grew up in Elmo, Kansas and attended Hope High School. Following her graduation, she attended Marymount College in Salina, where she earned her RN degree.
On January 8, 1966, she was united in marriage with John Bell in Elmo. Six children were born to this union, and they were privileged to spend more than 52 years of marriage together.
Dolores loved being a nurse and caring for so many patients throughout the years in the Beloit area until she retired in 2013, and later moved to Ellsworth.
She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to cook and bake in her spare time.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Patricia Jones in 2017; two brothers, Robert in infancy, and Leo; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Heidrick.
She is survived by her husband John; children, Pam and husband Kent Jamis of Wichita, Chris and wife Amy Bell of Simpson, Debbie and husband James Lange of Brookville, Deanna and husband Brian Pruitt of Ellsworth, and Tim Bell of Simpson; siblings, Marilyn and husband Ken Schmidt of Berryton, Bill and wife Karen Lorson of Hope, Joyce and husband George Wagner of Brookville, and Steve and wife Rosalie Lorson of Salina; sister-in-law, Mary Bell Heidrick of Colorado Springs; brother-in-law, James and wife Ruth Bell of Beloit; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral mass will be at 10 AM Thursday, May 17 at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Beloit. A rosary service will be at 7 PM & visitation will be from 1 PM until the rosary service begins Wednesday, May 16 at Roberts Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Good Samaritan Home Health of Ellsworth or Mt. Joseph Senior Village Activity Fund of Concordia.
