Merle Bruner, 84, of Marion passed Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Marion Assisted Living. Merle was born August 19, 1933 in Hillsboro to Cecil and Vergie (Westerman) Bruner and graduated from Marion High School in 1951. He and Nova Bredemeier were married in 1956. Merle was a diesel mechanic and retired city superintendent for the City of Marion. He worked in construction in the Russell, KS area as well. Merle is survived by his daughters Cathy (Rick) Cleeton of Marion and Cristi (Frank) Soyez of Cedar Point, KS; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife Nova; infant brother Quinten Bruner and sister Genevieve “Sis” Palmer.
