Kenneth C. “Kenny” Wright, 87, passed away Monday, May 21st, in Salina. He was born October 15, 1930 in Abilene, the son of Herschel and Edna (Poister) Wright. Growing up in Abilene, Kenny attended local schools and graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1949. He was an Army veteran. on January 22, 1968 he married Carol Brumbalow in Abilene. All of their married life was spent in Abilene. Kenny had farmed in the area and had been employed by Ehrsam Manufacturing, Vaccublast, Grant Township and had owned his own implement dealership. He enjoyed gardening, being a pilot, building birdhouses and farming. Kenney was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Wright.
He is survived by: wife, Carol Wright of Abilene; daughter, Lisa (Roy) Gasswint of Abilene; son Kevin (Casey) Wright of Abilene; eight grandchildren; five sisters, Corrine Olson of Holton, Rosemary Benburg of North Carolina, Merle Lantz of Arkansas, Lennis ValDez of Nebraska, Linda Bender of Arizona; and a brother Mark Wright of Topeka.
Kenney had chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, May 26th at the Danner Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Middleton officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends 5:30 – 6:30 PM Friday, May 25th, at the Danner Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to the Elsie Brooks Cancer fund. The may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410
