James Montague, 74, of Salina, passed away, June 17, 2018. He was born June 7, 1944 to Elmer and Nellie Montague. He was very proud of his wife and children, as well as 40 plus years of sobriety. He served in the U.S. Navy. He loved working at the LAPD, KWU, and Lambriar’s. His favorite moments were spent outdoors with family and friends.
He is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Susan; daughter, Catherine (Ernest), Emma and William Lazo; son, Jason Montague; and LaVonne Thomas. Other surviving family; siblings, Shirley, Bob, and Lee; other children, Shelly, Derek, and Tonya; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by: his parents; Clarence Thomas; and daughter, Sandy.
A come and go Celebration of Life will be4:30-7 p.m. Thursday, June 21, with memories shared at 5:30 p.m. at Christ Cathedral Parish Hall.
