Mary Elizabeth Simpson-Lollis

Mary Elizabeth Simpson-Lollis, 80, passed away on July 15th, 2018 in the presence of God and her family. 

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 20 at Heartland Worship Center, Agra, Kan.

Mary Elizabeth Lollis was born on September 3rd, 1937 in Pittsfield, MA., to Joseph and Irene (Martineau) Williams.  She moved to Arizona in 1970 with her husband Vernon Simpson and their 11 children.  Mary thoroughly enjoyed her career as a certified nurse assistant and homemaker.  She loved singing “You are My Sunshine” to cheer up her patients.  Vernon passed away and she later married William “Billy” Lollis.

 In 2010, Mary moved to Kansas to reside with her daughter, Mary Adams and her three grandaughters. On July 25, 2010, Mary accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior.  Mary was the sunshine in the room.  She enjoyed spending her time playing with her pennies, sitting on the porch, and watching Family Feud.  Mary also enjoyed family gatherings in her home, soaking up the laughter of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mary’s best friend was her dog, little Anne. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Vernon Simpson and her second late husband William “Billy” Lollis; siblings Joseph and Grace, and many family and friends.

Survivors include  her sister Gertrude of Pittsfield, MA; children, Joseph of California, Vernon of Arizona, JB of Arizona, Eddy of Nevada, Robert of Arizona, Bruce of Kansas, Glenn of Maryland, Mary of Kansas, Phillip of Arizona, Vernalee of Arizona, and Emanuel “Manny” of Arizona, 47 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and many other dear family members and friends. “Good Night, I Love You and God Bless”  Mary will be greatly missed.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, PO Box 157, Washington, Kansas 66968.
