Dolly Mae Wilson

BELOIT — Dolly Mae Wilson, 89, formerly of Salina, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018. She was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Kansas City, Mo., to Edward J. and Maude L. (Davidson) Roberts.

Dolly graduated from St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She worked in various departments of nursing at St. John’s Hospital. She retired in 1990 and later became involved with PRN employment in home health and was very involved in Parish Nursing. She was a lifetime member of KSNA, Immanuel Lutheran Church, and taught Sunday and Vacation bible school. In her children’s earlier years, she was dedicated to their sporting and recreational events. Dolly’s outgoing personality led her to never know a stranger.

Survivors include: her children, Larry Wilson of Mission, Texas, David Wilson of Salina, Ron Wilson (Carla) of Lindsborg, Susan Concannon (Craig) of Beloit, and Ann Collins (Trent) of Moweaqua, Ill.; brother, James Roberts of Indianapolis, Ind.; sister, Rosella Sill of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, Steve, Lindsey, Brett, Jessica, Kelsey, Curtis, Jamie, Bryant, Amanda, Addie, and Channing; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husband of 60 years, James R. Wilson, and their greatest life investment was their children and their families; brother, Edward Roberts Jr.; and sisters, Irene Ortiz and JoAnn Cochran.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Salina. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 20, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Kent Happel as officiant. Inurnment will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
