Carol Kay Eaton, 74, of Salina, passed away Saturday, January 31, while in the company of family members, at Kenwood View Rehab & Health Care.
Carol was born in Vermillion, SD on February 13, 1940, a daughter of the late Genevieve (Haley) and James Walsh. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, volunteering, camping, sewing, and most of all quilting. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Salina.
Survivors include three daughters, Karla Bartz, of Salina; Theresa Medina, of Larned; Angela, wife of Gregg Lyon, of Salina; four sons Rodney, husband of Cindy Bartz, of Wichita; Randy Bartz, of Salina; Arlan, husband of Terri Bartz, of Vero Beach, Florida; Jeff, husband of Julie Bartz, of Olathe; a step son, Richard Eaton, of Great Bend. She is also survived by Daughter-in-law, Sandi Bartz of Larned, KS; Grandchildren, Darcy, Ashley, Shayla, Teran, Stephen Lyon, AJ Medina, Brian Medina, Payten, Scott Lyon, Jayme, Jeromy Bartz, Jordan Bartz, Brandon Bartz, Trevor Bartz; great grandchildren, Landen, Parker, Bradyn, Hunter, Eli, Leyum, Brylee.
She was proceeded by; Husband and father of children, Melvin Bartz; husband and travel companion, Dale Eaton; Sons, Michael and Joey Bartz; daughter-in-law, Jolyn Bartz, son-in-law, John Medina; grandson, Dustin Bartz; and brother, Merrill Walsh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Salina, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 4th.
Visitation will be Tuesday February 3, 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends 5:00 – 7:00 PM. A Rosary will be held Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Carlson – Geisendorf Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be held at St. Rose’s Cemetery in Crofton, Nebraska at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 5, 2015

Arthur L. “Art” Brake, 77, of Salina, died Saturday, January 31, 2015. He was born January 13, 1938 in Brunswick, Missouri, the son of Leroy and Dorothy (Huckbey) Brake. Art was raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He married Janet Curran July 19, 1958.
Art served in the United States Air Force, the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department and the Saline County District Court. In 1975, he went into business with his long time friend Steve Owens forming Owens, Brake and Associates working as a court reporter/stenographer. He also started the court reporting program at Brown Macke College, Salina. Art enjoyed baseball and fast pitch softball as well as coaching boy’s baseball. He loved hunting and fishing and training bird dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step father Walter Brown; brother George Dale Brake; and son-in-law Joe Martin. Survivors include: wife Janet; three daughters Lynn Martin, Janice McConnell and husband Steve, and Laura Killough and husband James; grandchildren Matthew, Sarah and Maeve Martin and Emily and Alexander Stack; great grandchildren Bailey Kenney, Killian and Sheamus Martin, Miranda Isaac, and Alexandria and Sebastian Stack.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, Salina. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday with rosary beginning at 5:30 PM at the Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
