ble50605Kenneth W. Bledsoe, 87, of Salina, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 5, 2015. He was born July 3, 1927, in Douglass to John Willis and Alberta (Payne) Bledsoe.

On April 9, 1950, he married Virginia Yeagley in Salina. He assisted his father delivering ice to Salina homes and businesses. For many years, he worked as a baker for Holsum Bakery, and later, he worked for Federal-Mogul and the Johns Manville plant in McPherson. He was a member of Emmanuel Foursquare Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (in 1998), and four sisters. He is survived by sons, Jim Brown, of Solomon, Jerry Brown, of Central City, Neb., and Kenneth R. Bledsoe and Daniel Bledsoe, both of Salina; daughters, Virginia Lessenden, of Abilene, and Clara Watts, of Beloit; brother, John Willis Bledsoe, of Bethany, Mo.; sister, Nancy Kirby, of Independence, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 8, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, at Emmanuel Foursquare Church, 1325 E. Cloud, Salina, with the Rev. Loren Houltberg officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

The family suggests memorials to Christ the Lord Community Church or Salina Animal Shelter, in care of the mortuary.
