Charles Loren “Chuck” Hucksoll Jr., 80, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015. He was born April 1, 1935, in Salina to Charles L. and Gladys E. (Johnson) Hucksoll.
On Oct. 9, 1960, he married Paticia “Pat” Brownson at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Salina.
Chuck was a lifelong resident of Salina. He retired from United States Postal Service and the Army National Guard. After retirement, he owned Something Special Bridal Boutique. He was a life member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and TREA: The Enlisted Assocation, Chapter 16 Salina, KS (an affiliate of TREA since 1970). The Enlisted Association-the Voice of the Enlisted serves the total enlisted force (veterans, active duty, retired, Reserves and National Guard). The Enlisted Association’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for uniformed services enlisted personnel, their families and survivors, including active duty, veterans, Reserves, National Guard, and all retirees; to stop the erosion of earned benefits through our legislative efforts; to maintain our esprit de corps, dedication and patriotism; and to continue our devotion and allegiance to God and country. Charles joined Chapter 16 in 2004 and served as the president and vice president for many years. He always gave his all in supporting The Enlisted Assocation.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Pat,” of Salina; daughter, Sheri (Robin) Mahan, of Manhattan; son, Steven Hucksoll, of Gardner; sister, Wanda Swihart, of Olathe; and grandchildren, Matalyn and Logan Mahan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carroll Hucksoll; sister, Janice Rakestraw; and an infant sister, Charlene.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Ryan Mortuary. A private family burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
