Willie Eric Jernigan, 63, Salina, died Monday Aug. 24, 2015. He was born Sept. 28, 1951 in Florida. He grew up in Alabama and later moved to Salina where he worked for St. John’s Military School, Dillons, and Tony’s Pizza Service.
He is survived by his companion Sandy Fisher, Salina, and two sons, Curtis Jernigan and Christopher Jernigan, both of Eufaula, Alabama.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 29th at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina with Rev. Gary Carlson officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina or the American Cancer Society, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, Salina, Kansas 67401.

H. Lee Carlson, 75, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 12:42 p.m., Wednesday, August 26th, suddenly, at his residence.
Lee was born in Ashland, Kansas on March 28, 1940, a son of Ferne Opal (Hoffman) and Edwin Ernest Carlson.
Lee attended Ellenwood grade school and graduated from Ellenwood High School, Ellenwood, Kansas in 1958.
Lee was a member of New Life Foursquare Gospel Church McPherson, Kansas.
Lee honorably served his country from 1958 to 1962 in the U.S. Navy as a AM 3 in the peace time on U.S.S. Yorktown air craft carrier.
Through the years Lee worked for Swick Guth as a machinist, owned and operated Hometown Family Service and was currently running the Mac Cab.
Lee was a member of the American Legion Post 24, McPherson.
Lee Carlson was united in marriage to Margaret I. Pollman on October 1, 1980 at Four Square Church, McPherson, Kansas. They established their first home together in McPherson, Kansas.
Lee is survived by his wife, of over 34 years, Margaret Carlson, of McPherson, Kansas; his children, Jeri Blile, of Miami, Oklahoma, Edna Hardy, of Miami, Oklahoma, Shaun Carlson and his fiancée Megan Spencer of McPherson, Kansas, and Katrina Hale and her husband Sam, of Vinita, Oklahoma; his step-children, Leonard Pollman and his wife Sandy, of Galva, Kansas, and Shelly Thomas and her husband Marc, of Falun, Kansas; his siblings, Bertie Reynolds of McPherson, Kansas, John Carlson and his wife Rowena, of WeekiVachee, Florida, Charles “Chuck” Carlson and his wife Cecile, of Omaha, Nebraska, Donald Carlson and his wife Cheryl, of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Lawrence Carlson, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; his 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Ferne Carlson; his brothers, Ernest Richard Carlson and Ronald Dean Carlson; son, Mike Quinley.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at New Life Foursquare Gospel Church 811 North Ash Street, McPherson, Kansas.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 on Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 at the New Life Foursquare Gospel Church with Pastor Chuck Baker officiating. Military honors will be presented by members of the American Legion Post 24 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715 both of McPherson.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Riley Cemetery, Riley, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Foursquare Church or American Legion Post 24 Honor Flight in memory of Lee and they can be sent in care of the Glidden – Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460.

Virginia M. “Gina” Tindle, of Inman, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was a homemaker and worked in the aviation industry.
Gina was born on March 3, 1929, in Fort Worth, TX, the daughter of Claude Jackson and Elvie Irene (Lowrie) Holland.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Rodriguez of Benbrook, TX and guardian, Brenda Allenbach of Moundridge, KS.
Private family service will be held at a later date.

Frona Kay Nikkel, 71, of McPherson, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, surrounded by her family at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS. She had worked at the NCRA Refinery, Kumle Feed Yard, and Overhead Door in McPherson.
Frona was born on September 3, 1943, in Ness City, KS, the daughter of Fred Lawrence and Emma Irene (Fercking) Coker. She graduated from Ness City High School. She was united in marriage to Richard L. Caruthers on June 22, 1963, in Ness City. She married Robert D. Nikkel on June 15, 1985, in Marquette, KS. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2009.
She was a life member of V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of Ness City Methodist Church.
Survivors include: four children, Tamara R. Rader of McPherson, KS, Richard L. Caruthers, Jr. of Torrington, WY, Elizabeth Turner (Ray) of Valley Center, KS, and Julie Vogts (Milton) of Canton, KS; sisters, Arlene Cline (John) of Wakeeney, KS and Linda Chambers of Fort Bragg, CA; 11 grandchildren, Jarrod Caruthers (Jessica), Dalton Rader, Austin Caruthers, Katie Caruthers, Duncan Caruthers, Abraham Vanek, Gabriel Vanek, Madison Turner, Tashley Stockham (Nick Givens), Kassidy van der Hoeven (Matthew), and Paige Vogts; seven great-grandchildren, Allorah, Layten, Aiden, Lilly, & Andrew Caruthers, Ella Stockham, and Brendan Givens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, William Coker, Frieda Coker, Henrietta Wilkison, Irma Morath, LaVerne Coker, Thomas Coker, Wesley Coker, Terry Coker, Gary Coker, and Constance Wagoner.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at First Christian Church, McPherson with Rev. Lynn Scott officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, August 31, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Patty L. Balloun, 88, and former Russell resident, died on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at the Gove County Medical Long Term Care in Quinter, Kansas.
A celebration of Patty’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, August 31, 2015, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary chapel in Russell, Kansas, with Pastor Exie Barber and Pastor Jim Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Gorham, Kansas. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Sunday, August 30, 2015, at the mortuary.
