3346994_wlppAnthony R. Anderson, Jr., age 22, entered into rest on October 10, 2015 at his residence. Anthony was born February 20, 1993 in Concordia, Kansas to Anthony Roy and Marsha Lynn (Jones) Anderson.

He was baptized at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Survivors include his parents, Marsha & Anthony Roy Anderson; Maternal grandmother, Nancy Jones; Paternal grandparents, Roy and Kay Anderson & best Friend Josh Rhodes all of Concordia; Several Aunts, Uncles & cousins; God parents Christina Engle, Hebron, NE and Mark Jones, Jamestown.

He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Emmett Jones.

Anthony was a 2012 Concordia High School Graduate. He attended NCKAVTS Beloit where he enrolled in the Diesel Mechanics program. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with his friends & family.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2015 with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m., family will receive friends after the Vigil Service all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Lager officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Anthony R. Anderson, Jr. c/o Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.

561ae5184a306MARION – Gerald W. “Jerry” Cady, age 76, passed away October 10, 2015, at Newton Medical Center.  He was born September 26, 1939, near Scottsville, Kansas, the son of Gerald R. and Loretta V. (Grennan) Cady, they would later move to Beloit.  He was a 1958 graduate of St. John’s High School in Beloit.  On May 31, 1959, he married Donna Willett at Beloit. This union was blessed with 4 children:  Laurie, Jeff, Brian and Brad.   In 1990, they moved to Marion, and he established the Jerry Cady Agency.  Donna passed away September 19, 1992.  He later married Enid (Thiessen) Jost on August 5, 1995.  This marriage would bring 3 more children into Jerry’s life:  Chris, Carla and Carey.  Jerry served on the Beloit High School Board of Education, had been an officer of the Beloit Elks Lodge, was active at the St. John’s Catholic Church of Beloit, and later the Holy Family Parish of Marion County.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Donna; and a granddaughter Alison Cady.  He is lovingly survived by his wife, Enid Cady of Marion; children:  Laurie Holub (Pat) of Marion; Jeff Cady (Theresa) of Bennington; Brian Cady(Miki) of Derby; and Brad Cady of Marion; step-children:  Chris Jost (Debra Martin) of Penrose, CO; Carla Longmeyer (Jamey) of Longmont, CO; and Carey Jost (Lorri) of Haysville; 6 siblings; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  Services will be held at St. John Nepomucene Church of Pilsen, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, and the Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2015.  A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, at St. John’s Cemetery of Beloit.  A Memorial Fund has been established for Quail Forever Youth Hunt in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, KS, 66861.

vet_ffffffJAMES CLAYTON WHITE, 87 died October 9, 2015 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, KS. He was born on March 14, 1928 in Vining, KS, the son of O. Ray and Katie (Watson) White. James was raised in Vining and graduated from Clifton High School. He married Donis Grooms on August 12, 1949. James worked for Simpson Layborn Evans and Stark in Salina before enlisting in the US Army. He served as a medical corpsman from January 10, 1952 to January 9, 1954. James returned to the grain industry, working for Simpson Layborn Miller and Stark and Miller Grain Company for 30 years as a grain inspector, supervising grain storage in 6 different grain elevators. James and Donis also owned and operated the Salina KOA Campgrounds. He is preceded in death by his parents

Wife: Donis White, Minneapolis, KS

Daughter: Cindy and husband Lew McAtee, Ellsworth, KS

Son: Mike and wife Kathy White, Salina, KS

Daughter: Barb and husband Jeff Thompson, Rosamond, CA

6 Grandchildren and 11 Great-grandchildren

Sister: Dorothy Sauder, Green Valley, AZ

3348209Kenneth Ralph Duitsman, 91, died Monday, October 12, 2015 at his home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 14 at the Ward Funeral Home in Linn. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, October 15 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Linn.

Burial is in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Kenneth was born to Eilert and Bertha(Diedrich) Duitsman at their farm home north of Linn on July 15, 1924. He was baptized on August 3, 1924, making him a child of God for all eternity.

Kenneth attended three years at the Star School and five years at Zion Lutheran Parochial School. He was confirmed in the Christian faith at Zion Lutheran Church on April 3,, 1938. He graduated from Linn Rural High School in 1942.

On September 4, 1949, he was united in marriage to Irene Tewes at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Palmer. They were blessed with three children, James, Kathleen and Bradley. Kenneth was a man of the soil and farmed his entire lifetime.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and held many offices with the church. He was active in the Lutheran Laymen’s League at the state, zone and local level. Kenneth also served on the Kansas District Synodical Board of Directors for nine years. Kenneth was a very active community leader being a township trustee for twenty-six years, a leader in the Washington County Farm Bureau and the County Extension. As a young man, Kenneth pitched semi-pro baseball for several teams, many years, in both Kansas and Nebraska. Ken also loved statistics, as he had kept a daily diary since 1968 of rainfall, temperature and other items of interest from day to day.

Kenneth was a devoted husband and father. He loved watching his family grow and followed their paths as they grew in their careers and in their sporting endeavors. He was also a loved grandpa by his ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Irene of 66 years; three children, James (Joyce) Duitsman, Atchison, Kathy (Russell) Relph, Wichita, Brad (Diane) Duitsman, Washington; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brothers, Wilbert “Bill” Duitsman and Ervin Duitsman.

A memorial fund is established to the Zion Lutheran Church, Meadowlark Hospice or the Lutheran Hour. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.

Virgil Lee Conger, 87, of Lindsborg, passed away October 10, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marjorie June (Forster) Conger, daughter, Francis Joy Bronson, granddaughter, Melody Joy Bronson, and three brothers.

Virgil leaves behind many loved ones including his daughter Margie Lee McKenna (Colin) of Sedan, KS, sons: Virgil Paul Conger (Cindy Lou) of Rogers, AR, John Mark Conger of Dunwoody, GA, and a sister, Betty of Colorado.

There will be no visitation.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, at the Kansas Veteran’s Cemetery of WaKeeney, KS, with military honors.

Memorials may be designated for First Love Ministries of Rogers, AR, in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N. Washington, PO Box 386, Lindsborg, KS 67456.

rogg,SandracoverpicSandra Kay (Peck) Rogg, 72, of rural Russell, Kansas,
passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Salina Regional Hospital in Salina, Kansas.

Sandra was born October 15, 1942 in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph and Hester (Milberger) Peck.  She grew up in Bunker Hill and graduated from Bunker Hill High School.  She then attended Wichita State University where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.

Sandra was united in marriage to Verne Lee Rogg on October 8, 1961 in Russell.  This union was blessed with three
children; Eric, Pamela and Scott.  They made their home in Russell.  Verne preceded her in death in November of 2001.

Sandra was a crop agent for Farm Bureau Insurance in Russell for over 24 years.  Earlier in life she worked at the Cattlemen’s Bank in Wichita.  She also worked in the business office of the Smokey Hill Public Television Station in Bunker Hill.  She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and a Board member of the Bunker
Hill Museum.  She enjoyed oil painting, art, sculptures, water skiing, spending time at the Lake, tending her flower garden, traveling and spending time with Merl and socializing with family and friends.

Surviving family include her daughter, Pamela Rogg of Austin, Texas; son, Scott Rogg of Russell, Kansas; beloved fiancé Merl Parde of Minneapolis, Kansas; brothers, Curtis Peck (Mary) of Wichita, Kansas and Dr. Roger Peck (Norma) of Manhattan, Kansas; sister, Lauree Johnson (Ron) of Ellis, Kansas; and grand dog Comet.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Eric Rogg, and brother Frank Peck.

Celebration of Sandra’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Trinity United Methodist Church.  A private family burial of ashes will follow at a later date.  No visitation will be held.  A Memorial has been established with the Bunker Hill Cemetery Fund.  Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
