5594108_220wLeona “Nona” Madeline Malone, 90, a longtime resident of Salina, died Sunday the 13th of December at Ashbury Park, Newton, KS.

Nona was born May 23, 1925 in Junction City, KS to Robert and Madeline Steele. She graduated from Junction City High School in 1943. She married Gene Malone, her high school sweetheart, on July 29, 1944 in Santa Ana, California. After World War II they lived in Junction City and eventually settled in Salina, Kansas.

Nona has a diverse work history ranging from a riveter at an airplane factory in California, a Dental Assistant in Fort Riley, and she sold Avon. Nona was most known for her years of service at McCoy’s Christian Bookstore where she shared her life and her faith. Nona ended her career at Town & Country Home Improvements.

Nona loved the Lord and spent her life sharing her faith with others. She loved her family and friends and more than anything wanted them to know Jesus. Her smile showed the joy of the Lord and if you knew Nona you knew love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Malone; her parents, Oh Yeah & Mamie; brother, Bob Steele; and grandson, Marc Malone.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Jerilyn) Malone; daughter, Diane (Rog) Rogers; grandson, Steve (Janel) Rogers; granddaughters, Jenny Danaher & Cory Rogers; and seven great – grandchildren, Libby, Shaye, Aubrey, Faith, Kayden, Ben, Joe; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 1pm to 7pm at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina, with the family receiving friends from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 16, 2015 at 10 am at Emmanuel Foursquare Church, 1325 E Cloud, Salina, KS. Burial will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Asbury Park or Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Roselawn Mortuary, PO Box 2322, Salina, 67402.

5595454_220w_1Patricia Jean Dayen, 78, of Salina, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015. She was born August 22, 1937 in Oakland, CA.

She worked as a clerk for the San Bernardino County Hospital before retiring in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Amy (Ash) Graham, her husband, Theodore Dayen and her son, Robert Dayen.

Survivors include her son, Stephen (Linda) of Klamath Falls, OR, her two daughters, Bonnie (Oscar) Labra of AZ. and Kathleen (William) Hardesty of Salina; one brother, Richard Graham (Lynn) of Norstrand, MN. two sisters, Barbara (Lou) Henderson of Lancaster, CA., and Kathy (Bear) Hanson of Santa Rosa, CA., seven grandchildren, David and Angela Gaitan, Stephanie (Gaitan) Baker, Joshua and Jeremy Dayen, Ana and Joseph Alvarez and six great grandchildren, Kaden, Alexus and Neil Baker, Keaton and Ethon and Jaydon Rodriguez.

Memorial services will be 11:00am, Monday, December 21, 2015 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 834 N. 11th St., Salina.

A private family only inurnment will take held at Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

Lee French Page, resident of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, December 13,
2015, at Enterprise Estates at the age of 98. He was born April 19, 1917, near the
former community of Moonlight, Dickinson County, Kansas, the son of James
Marshall and Marie (nee True) Page. He attended school in Detroit and graduated
from Chapman High School in 1936. Lee grew up farming with his father and
grandfather, then worked as a mechanic for John Deere in Abilene. He worked for
J.B. Ehrsam & Sons Manufacturing for many years and retired in 1982. He was a
long-time member of First Baptist Church of Abilene, where he served as a Deacon
for many years. Lee served as a motorcycle mechanic at Ft. Riley, Kansas, during
World War II. His love of history and interest in genealogy inspired him to volunteer
at the Dickinson County Historical Society and Heritage Center for more than 25
years, where he also served as a board member. Maintaining the merry-go-round and
blacksmithing during Heritage Days celebrations were two of his greatest joys.
He was married to Z. Orene Rossiter, who passed away in 1996. Lee is survived
by his half- brother Frank Raynor, his son Richard Page and daughters, Pamela
Page of Abilene, Helen Page of Jackson, California, and Lila (Page) Peters and her
husband, John Peters of Witchita. Lee also leaves behind seventeen grandchildren
and great-grandchildren, all of whom he cherished. He was preceded in death by
his loving wife Orene, sons Cecil and David, daughter Susan, granddaughter
Heidi, his parents, and all of his sisters.
Lee’s final resting place will be the Abilene Cemetery. Funeral services for Lee
will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Martin-Becker-
Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene with Reverend Jack Gilstrap officiating.
Friends may sign the guest book Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and until
services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to
the Dickinson County Historical Society and sent in care of the Martin-Becker-
Carlson Funeral Home, 414 N.W.3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.

Wesley-Black-1450191840Wesley Black, 51, of Newton and formerly of McPherson, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at his home in Newton, KS. He had been a truck driver and insulation installer.

Wes was born on January 2, 1964 in Englewood, Colorado. He graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Littleton, CO and attended Central College, McPherson.

Wes attended McPherson Free Methodist Church.

Survivors include: parents, Ruth & Jerry Land of McPherson, KS; step-brother, Todd Land (Jerry Reinke) of Joplin, MO; uncle & aunt, Larry & Judy Potter of McPherson, KS; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by uncle, Richard Potter.

The memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2016, at McPherson Free Methodist Church with Rev. Dallas Burgeson officiating. Inurnment will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 4, at McPherson Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to McPherson Free Methodist Church in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.

Hillsboro – Bob Hein, 78, died December 14, 2015 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.  He was born September 10, 1937 to Paul and Mary (Fisher) Hein Rural Durham.  He was a Car Salesman for Irv Schroeder County Motors and Marion County Commissioner for many years.  He married Janis Hatcher November 23, 1958 in Florence.  Survivors include: son, Mike (Ashlie) Hein of Hutchinson; daughters, Brenda (Rick) Moss of Hillsboro, Diana (Chris) Thomsen of Hartford, Kansas; sister, Pearl (Bob) Brandewiede of Newton; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  Predeceased by his wife Janis, in 2002 and granddaughter, Mary Thomsen in 2006.  Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at The Hillsboro United Methodist Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Morita Truman officiating.  Interment at Durham Park Cemetery Rural Durham, Kansas.  Family will receive guests from 5 to 7 Thursday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Memorials to Bob Hein Memorial Fund in care of Jost Funeral Home P.O.
