Robert G. Goodwin, 91 of Salina, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016.
He was born February 25, 1925 in Belleville, KS to Robert M. and Mary A. (Nixon) Goodwin, who precede Robert in death.
Robert retired from S.W. Bell in 1987 after 40 years of service. Robert started out as a linesman and then became a teletypist.
Robert was very proud of his military service, joining the US Air Force for 22.5 years in the Air Force Reserve as a Major, as well as being a bombardier in WW II.
Robert will be remembered for his enjoyment of the outdoors, from his love of golfing, hunting, fishing to spending quality time with his family. His greatest pride and joy came from his gardens, both vegetables and flowers.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Darlyene J. (Pearce) Goodwin in 2014, 3 brothers; Norris Goodwin, Gene Goodwin and Lynn Goodwin, and 3 sisters; Mary Passmore, Myra Wilson and Marguerite Helstrom.
Robert is survived by his loving children, Susan (Michael) Murry of Beckley, WV, Steven (Dorothy) Goodwin and David (Carolyn) Goodwin, both of Salina, grandchildren; Kim Murry of Syracuse, NY, Jeni Adams, Katie Goodwin and her fiancé; Bryan Eitel and Nolan Goodwin; and one great grandchild, Brooklyn Adams, all of Salina.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 1:00pm until the start of Robert’s funeral service at 2:00pm at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 East Crawford, Salina.

Jean Black
88, passed away Friday, April 15th, in Abilene. She was born January 20, 1928 near Longford, the daughter of Lewis and Helen (Hughes) Foote. Growing up in the Chapman area, Jean attended local schools and graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1946. On August 31, 1947, she was married to Leonard Black in Chapman. All of their married life was spent farming in the Navarre/Hope area. Jean had been employed by the Navarre Post Office. Leonard preceded her in death Augusts 20, 1998. In 2003, she moved to Abilene. Jean enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her four legged family, dancing, playing cards, crafts and sewing.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Monday, April 18th, at the Danner Funeral Home with Pastor Kerry Coup officiating, interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery south of Enterprise. The family will receive friends 4:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday at the Danner Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be made to the Corgi Connection of Kansas or the Kansas Special Dog Services. Perry Alden Taylor, 73, of Augusta, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and a former resident of Roxbury, McPherson, and St. John.
Perry was born on July 1, 1942, the son of Alva LeRoy and Alma Lee (Poe) Taylor. He spent his formative years in Roxbury and graduated from Roxbury High School in 1962.
Survivors include: four children, Gayla Stout of Augusta, KS, Duane Taylor of Augusta, KS, Delton Taylor and wife, Rhonda, of Rose Hill, KS, and Satina Mullin and husband, Tom, of Rose Hill, KS; four siblings, Arylis Phillips of McPherson, KS, Quincy Taylor of McPherson, KS, Mary Simmons and husband, Neal, of Ponca City, OK, and Juanita Hanson and husband, Steve, of McPherson, KS; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Ancil; sister, Marjorie Florine; and former wife, Janice.
The memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Pastor James Gillespie officiating. Inurnment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Park, McPherson.
