Doris Irene McGinness, 98, Salina (formerly of Bennington) died Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Presbyterian Manor. She was born July 19, 1917 in Westfall to Alfred and Vena M. (Twibell) Nelson.
Doris and Thomas McGinness were united in marriage on July 15, 1934 in Westfall. She was a member of the O.E.S. and the Community Bible Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and sisters Lola Nelson and Betty Clark.
Survivors include her brother James Nelson and wife Janet of Salina; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in the Bennington Cemetery. Friends may sign the register book from 2-5 on Monday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends an hour before the services on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Community Bible Church.

Betty Jane Carlson, 70, died May 13, 2016 in Kansas City, KS. She was born on February 22, 1946 in Junction City, KS, the daughter of Arthur and Faye (Black) Greenwood. Betty was raised near the Chapman community. She graduated from Chapman High School and attended Brown-Mackie Business College in Salina. Betty married Robert G. Carlson on February 27, 1966. She worked with her husband at their heating and air business as well as their construction business. Betty was a former member of Sherer Memorial Lutheran Church in Chapman where she was active in a number of women’s groups. She is currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother and infant sister.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center KS
Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 3-8 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home

John E. Buster, 70, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 11:53 p.m., Thursday, May 12th, 2016 suddenly, at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas.
John was born in Concordia, Kansas on September 13, 1945, a son of Opal Darlene (Newlin) and Earl Wilfred “Willie” Buster.
John attended grade schools in Burr Oak, Kansas, and Fountain, Colorado, Junior High and High School in Salina, Kansas and graduated from McPherson High school, McPherson, Kansas in 1963. After graduation he joined the National Guard.
He was a member of Galva Christian Church Galva, Kansas.
John honorably served in the National Guard and U.S. Army.
John worked as a warehouse manager for Certain-Teed Corporation for 25 years. Then he started his own vinyl siding business Affordable Home Improvement and later added guttering when his son, Shon joined the business and has been serving the McPherson area for the last 30 years.
He was a member of the Canton American Legion, American Legion Riders, Abate of Kansas, and the Patriot Guard. John enjoyed anything outside, fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding, camping, softball, boating and Redneck engineering.
John Buster was united in marriage to Linda C. Butler for twenty six years.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Buster, of McPherson, Kansas; his children, Shon Buster and his wife Kim, of McPherson, Kansas, Heath Buster and his wife Mindy, of Aurora, Colorado, and Shelby Gering, of Beloit, Kansas; his sisters, Kayrene Babcock and her husband Bob, of McPherson, Kansas, Connie Tyler, of Mankato, Kansas, and Lola Fishback, of McPherson, Kansas, “brother” Dick Loy of Elbert, Colorado; his 7 grandchildren, Caitlin Dailey & husband Kaleb, Lacy Kopf, Payton Buster, Kale Buster, Jamie Rippe & husband Taylor, McKenna Buster, Kylie Buster; his 3 great-grandchildren, Avery Emerson, Brayden Dailey and Haegan Rippe; his faithful canine companion Daisy; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Willie Buster; a nephew, Logan Fishback.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas
The funeral service will be held at Galva Christian Church, Galva, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18th, 2016 with Reverend Robert H. Park officiating. Military honors will be presented by members of the American Legion Post 24 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715 both of McPherson.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday May 18th, 2016 at Burr Oak Cemetery, Kansas.
