3723031_fbsCarol A. Ingerson, 55, Minneapolis, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at her home in Minneapolis.

Survivors include her companion Charles Toothman; children Julie Mitchell of Cumming, GA, Angela Handly of Delphos, and Jeremiah Ingerson of Tonganoxie; mother Lucille Magill of Salina; brothers Ron, Robert, and Larry Hartman all of Salina; several grandchildren; and her beloved Clowder.

It was Carol’s wishes that her obituary be brief, no services be held, and that no flowers be sent. She requested that memorials be sent to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) 424 E. 92nd Street, New York, NY 10128-6804

ngu60512Loan Thanh Nguyen, 3, of Salina, passed away, Thursday, May 12, 2016. She was born Feb. 25, 1973, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

She is survived by her husband, Anh Dao, and daughter, Jennifer Tram Nguyen, both of Salina; mother, Tam Thi Nguyen; siblings, Cuong Thanh Nguyen, Mai Thanh Nguyen, Tan Thanh Nguyen, Phong Thanh Nguyen and Hoang Thanh Nguyen, all of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

No services are planned at this time.

mcd60516vet_ffffffLayne A. McDowell, 80, of Salina, passed away May 16, 2016. He was born in Shelbyville, IN to Glen and Louise McDowell on April 11, 1936.

He served in the United States Army fought in the Vietnam War. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, camping, and fishing.

He is survived by his sons, Tom and Terry McDowell of Wichita, John and Shelley McDowell of Salina; daughter, Alma Allen of Salina; grandchildren, John McDowell, Ashley Boyer, Eric Timmons, Robert McDowell and A.J. Allen; and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Gypsum Hill Cemetery in Salina.

Memorials may be made to Tammy Walker Cancer Center and are in care of Ryan Mortuary 137 North Eighth Salina, Kansas 67401.

vet_ffffffpet60517Jack Petty, Salina, 81, died May 17, 2016. Jack was born Sept 28, 1934 in Clinton, MO. the son of Opha Gilbert Petty and Lena Geneva Christian Petty.

Jack worked for Boeing Aircraft for many years and also owned an appliance repair shop. He was a Sergeant in the Army National Guard from 1952 until 1956. His first love was race car driving and he is a member of the Kansas Racing Hall of Fame, Belleville High Banks Hall of Fame, BCRA Hall of Fame, Lincoln, NB and the 81 Speedway Wall of Fame, and Hudsonite Club. He was a member of Salina Optimist Club and a mason.

Jack is preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Dean Petty and Jeffery Neal Petty, his children’s mother, Mary Cletes Petty Graves, Mary Lou Covert, his companion of 34 years, a great grandson, John Wilford Petty and sisters in law, Joyce Petty and Karen Petty.

He is survived by his sons, Jim (Vickie) Petty, Wichita, William Joe (Marilyn) Petty, Smolan, Gilbert Jay (Jean) Petty, Jacksonville, Florida; and Dean Covert, Abilene; daughters, Julie Ann (Jeff) Arnold, South Hutchinson, Ks, and Vera Jane (Vinny) Argiro, of Key West, Fl. and daughter in law, Denise Petty, Wichita; two sisters, Judy Scheuneman, Mitchell, NB, Joan Mather, Lucas, KS; a brother, Jerry Lee Petty, Gypsum, Ks, many nieces and nephews and his loyal pet, Missy. Jack has 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Salemsborg Lutheran Church, Salemsborg. Burial will be in the Smolan Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Ryan Mortuary on Thursday from noon until 8:00 pm where the family will receive friends from 5 until 7 pm that evening. Memorials are suggested to the Kansas Racing Museum, Chapman or the Belleville Highbanks Museum.

mad60511Bob D. Madden, 83, of Salina, passed away May 11, 2016 after a long illness. He was born March 3, 1933 to Hadley and Ida Mae Madden in Fort Scott.

Bob was a territory manager for Firestone Tire for 15 years and then became manager of Becker Tire of Salina for 20 years. Bob was an avid golfer belonging to the Salina Municipal Golf Course, as well as the Elks and Salina Country Club. He and his wife were also members of Saint Mary’s Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pat, of 45 years; children, Connie, Terry, Rebeca, and Troy; brother-in-law, Pete Barrett and wife Karen; nieces, Kelli Imada and husband Shane, Holly McNicholas and husband Ryan; and nieces and great nieces Anna, Autumn, Lauren, and Harper; and his beloved Airdale, Sophie, and cat, Tank.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Ryan Mortuary with family receiving friends an hour prior from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Solomon.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Salina Animal Shelter.

CRAIG, Colorado – Ward S. Wallace, 61, Craig, Colorado died May 16, 2016 in Salina, Kansas. He was born October 2, 1954 in Spokane, Washington. He was a radio and cell phone salesman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn S. Wallace. He is survived by his mother, Mona Wallace of Lindsborg, Kansas; a brother, David Wallace of Craig, Colorado; and two sisters, Glenda Taylor and Laura Henderson, both of Lindsborg, Kansas.

Cremation has taken place and private services will be held at a later date. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, Salina, Kansas is handling arrangements.

vet_ffffffNEWTON – Kenneth S. “Ken” Sharbono, age 75, passed away May 15, 2016, at his residence.  He was born December 18, 1940, in Missoula, Montana, the son of LeRoy and Dorothy (Bozlee) Sharbono.  He proudly served his country with the United States Air Force.  He was a retired mechanic.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Marvin Sharbono and Gary Sharbono.  He is survived by his children:  LeRoy Sharbono and his wife Kay of Smithville, Missouri; Todd Sharbono of Oak Grove, Missouri; and Tonya Tharp of Blue Springs, Missouri; a sister Donna Roach of Newton.  Visitation with family will be held from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, and the Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2016, all at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater.  Memorial Gifts can be made to the donor’s choice in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S Main, Whitewater, KS, 67154.  Online Condolences may be left at www.zeinerfuneralhomes.com.

HERINGTON – OBITUARY FOR – Donna Lee Adam,  68, of Herington, died Friday, April 15th, 2016, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.  She was born April 23, 1947, in Strong City, KS, the daughter of Harry W. and Cora N. (Ashwill) Adam.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 28th, 2016, at the First Christian Church of Herington.  A private inurnment will be at a later date at the Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Miss Adam retired over ten years ago from Civilian Personnel in Ft. Riley.  She was a curator for the Herington Tri County Historical Society.   She graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1966.

She is survived by two brothers Gerald Adam of Herington, Mark Adam (wife-Janet) of Topeka; two sisters Betty Kearns (husband-Morris) of Coffeyville, Norene Klos of Beloit; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, a great-grandniece and several cousins.
