vet_ffffffeverette-mead-1478012348Everett Dale (Pee Wee) Mead, 73, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Friday, October 28th, 2016.

Everett was born in Salina, Kansas on July 13, 1943, a son of the late Dorothy V. (Sheets) and Dale F. Mead. He was a graduate of Salina Central High School in 1961.

He was a member of several Salina Bowling Leagues, starting in the late 1950’s and throughout his lifetime. Everett was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, was an avid fisherman, and he enjoyed woodcarving.

On July 14th 1990, Everett married Terry L. Robey and she survives.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Lisa Lamer, of Salina, Kansas; son, Sean Mead and wife Gloria Mead, of Manassas, Virginia; step daughter, Betsy Carney, of Salina, Kansas; step son, Chris Carney and wife Kyla, of Adel, Iowa; sister, Pat Cutler and husband Ray, of Salina, Kansas; brother Ronnie Mead and wife Linda, of Dibble, Oklahoma. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.

He is preceded by his parents; son, Kelly Mead, and sister, Sharron DeLuna.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carlson – Geisendorf Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5th, with Pastor Jon Fillipi officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Salina.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kelly Mead Memorial Fund c/o Catholic Charities, 425 W Iron Ave, Salina, KS 67401 or Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1432 1108 Crawford Salina, Kansas 67401.

Gertrude A. “Trudy” Neely, 73, passed away Tuesday, November 1st, in Wichita. She was born March 4, 1943 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John W. and Veronica M. (Taylor) Keul. Growing up in Sharon, Trudy attended local schools and graduated from Sharon High School with the class of 1961. On June 28, 1963, she was married to Russell L. Neely in Sharon. The early years of their married life was spent in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, moving to Sarasota, Florida in 1979 and finally to Abilene, Kansas in 1987. She had been employed by Protective Home Life Insurance in Sharon, National Linen in Sarasota and owned and operated Neely Kennels in Abilene. Trudy enjoyed spending time with her grandson and attending concerts. She was a member of the National Greyhound Association and was preceded in death by her parents.
Trudy is survived by: her husband, Russell Neely; daughter, Susan Neely-Parker and grandson, Brandon Parker, all of Abilene and a brother John Keul of Greenhurst, New York.
The family will receive friends 5:30 – 6:30 PM Thursday, November 3rd, at the Danner Funeral Home , A 7:00 PM memorial service will follow at the Brethren In Christ Church with Rev. Dale Engle officiating. The family has chosen cremation to follow the memorial service. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Sharon, Pennsylvania. The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be made to the Brethren In Christ Church or the Elsie Brooks Cancer Fund. They may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410.

3995180_wlppBarbara Eldora Maloney passed away on October 31, 2016 at the Grand Villas nursing home in Clay Center, Kansas. She was 92 years old and had been in failing health. Barbara was born August 5, 1924, to Ellis Lafe and Ruth Jane Shepard, in Miltonvale, Kansas. She was one of eight children. Barbara graduated from Miltonvale High School, and also received a certificate to teach, which she did for one year.

Barbara married John Sessler Maloney on September 6, 1957. They lived in Belle Plaine, KS, Mulvane, Kansas, and a short time in Altus, Oklahoma. After retirement they lived in Wyandotte, Oklahoma and Miltonvale, Kansas. John worked for Ford Motor Car Company then Boeing Aircraft Mfg where he retired.

Barbara became mother to Ed and Keith Maloney upon her marriage. She loved helping to raise the boys, and later visiting the grandchildren.

Barbara loved cooking for her family, traveling with John and his parents, playing cards, attending church functions, and writing and calling her many friends and family. For years Barbara and John spent many wonderful weekends at their cabin near Grand Lake, Oklahoma.

Surviving Barbara are her sons Ed Maloney and his wife Barbara, grandchildren Jeff and Kelly, Keith Maloney and his wife Anne, grandchildren Matt and Jon, and 5 great grandchildren. Her special sister Helen Marie Kohl of Longford, Kansas.

Barbara’s parents are deceased as are her four brothers John, Bill, Jerry, and Dick Shepard, and two sisters Betty Paben, and Ida May Reed.

Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until Noon Friday, November 4, 2016 with funeral services honoring Barbara at 1:30PM at the F.C. Hill Memorial Wesleyan Church, 520 Tootle St., in Miltonvale, Kansas. Burial will be at the Miltonvale cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Miltonvale United Methodist Church,or the Miltonvale Senior Citizens Center and can be sent in care of the funeral home.

Terry Lee Koops

Downs—Terry Lee Koops, 60, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at his home in Downs.  He was born June 20, 1956 in Beloit, the son of Gerald and Henrietta (Heersink) Koops.
He was a farmer/stockman.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his brother, Randy (Thelma) Koops of Downs, sister, Stephanie (Dave) Draayer of Downs, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and two great nephews.
His memorial service will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dispatch Christian Reformed Church.  No visitation.  Memorials may be given to the Downs Christian Care Fund, Kansas Storytelling Festival, and Dispatch Christian Reformed Church Cadette Program  in care of Domoney Funeral Home, PO Box 127, Downs, KS  67437.
