Robert L. Hahn, 78, Salina, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at his home. He was born January 12, 1938 in Minneapolis to Louis H. and Helen F. (Everett) Hahn.
Bob attended schools in Minneapolis and he was a 1956 graduate of Minneapolis High School. After graduation he attended and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1961. Bob then served in the United States Navy aboard the USS W.A.S.P. Aircraft out of Boston. He was honorably discharged in 1964. During the same year, Bob went to work for Exxon-Mobil in Marketing. He made calls in Kansas City, Topeka, Dickinson, ND, Fargo, ND, Sioux Falls, SD, and St. Cloud, MN. While he was working for Exxon-Mobil he met Dolly Marsh and they were married August 9, 1968 in Honolulu, HI. In 1972, Bob resigned from Exxon-Mobil and began a teaching career at the St. Cloud, MN Community College. During that same time, he worked on developing G.L. Huyett in Minneapolis. Bob would spend the winter teaching and the summers developing a customer base for the business. In 1981, he and Dolly moved to Salina and assumed the full time business responsibility. He sold the business in 1992. Dolly was diagnosed with cancer in 2005 and she preceded him in death on August 8, 2006. After selling the business, Bob managed farmland, attended numerous KU ballgames and was active at the Salina YMCA.
Besides Dolly, Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Helen.
Survivors include his sisters Jean Todd and husband Dick of Minneapolis and Marcia Anderson and husband Paul of Salina; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 7 at the First Presbyterian Church, 308 S. Eighth Street, Salina. Private family graveside services will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 2-4. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Salina or in Minneapolis or the Ottawa County Service Corporation for the home owned carnival.

Ella Grace Fuller, 9, Minneapolis, made her journey to Heaven on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. She was born June 4, 2007 in Salina to Trevor W. and Abigail N. (Walmsley) Fuller.
Ella was a fourth grader at Minneapolis Grade School.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Darrell Adams; and great-grandparents Joe and Emily Walmsley, Raymond Crouch, and Dale Fuller.
Survivors include her parents, Trevor and Abbi Fuller; siblings Mason Mills, Kylie Fuller, Bryson Blake, and Natolyn Fuller; grandparents Brett Walmsley, Mary Lohf, Steve and Maureen Fuller, and Vicky Adams; great-grandparents Dave and Wilma Heikes, Darlene Fuller, and Opal Crouch; step-great-grandfather Chuck Bolling; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, November 4 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Some family members will be present from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A celebration of Ella’s life will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday at the Bennington Bible Church, 824 N. Nelson, Bennington. Private graveside services will be in the Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Treondus Lee “Tre” Wilson, 21, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 25th, at his residence.
Tre was born in Salina, Kansas on January 28, 1995, to the late Yvonne (Loud) and Bobby Lee Wilson, II
Tre was a graduate of Salina Central High School. He was a musician and had recently earned his Commercial Driver’s License. Tre will be remebered as an active member of the community, a loving father, and someone who was all about his family.
He was the husband of Alexis (Pusch) Wilson.

Brian E. Conner, M.D., 70, of Salina, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016. He was born Jan. 27, 1946, in Great Bend to Fred and Helen (Opie) Conner.
Brian graduated from Great Bend High School and participated with the Argonne Rebels Drum and Bugle Corps. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a chemistry degree followed by a medical doctorate in 1972. While at KU, he met Ann Cushing, and they were married in Downs in 1969.
Dr. Conner completed a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Iowa and then fellowships in cataract and retina surgery before opening his practice in Salina in 1979. With interest in rural health care, Dr. Conner had monthly satellite clinics in earlier years in Russell, Lincoln, Washington, Clay Center and Abilene. He was one of the earliest eye doctors in the Salina area to offer laser eye surgery.
In earlier years, Dr. Conner was a ham radio operator and worked with electronics and building his own sound equipment, which he used as a DJ at KU in the 1960s. An Eagle Scout in youth, he served as an adult scout leader in Salina Troop 214, traveling with his son to Philmont Scout Ranch and the World Jamboree in Holland.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, uncle, Glenn Opie and a cousin, Bruce Conner.
Survivors include: his wife, Ann, of Salina; son, David, of Denver; brother-in-law, Bill Cushing (Mary); aunt, Sandra Opie Waknitz (Charles); cousins, Joan Conner and Bill (Diana) Conner, Jean Conner, Harlan (Kathy) Opie, Robin (Jen) Opie; nephews, Christopher (Angela) Cushing, Seth (Kittie) Cushing and Joel (Cassidy) Cushing; and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Christ Cathedral, Salina, with burial at 2 p.m. Saturday in Great Bend Cemetery.

Anton Jay “A.J.” Andersen, 81, of Salina, passed away Sunday Oct. 30, 2016.

Funeral services for Robert J. “Bob” Purdy, age 82, of Abilene, will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene with Pastor Shane Britt officiating. Mr. Purdy passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Abilene Place in Abilene.
He was born September 2, 1934 in Port Chester, New York the son of Irving and Louise (Gaudet) Purdy. He graduated from High School in Maine and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War.
Bob worked for Combustion Engineering in East Hartford, Connecticut before transferring to Enterprise and he also farmed. He was a member of the Emmanuel Methodist Church and enjoyed building model airplanes and ships. He also enjoyed reading and gardening.
On June 5, 1960 Bob married Karel Burdick in Abilene. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his brother Ronald Purdy of Bath, Maine. He is preceded in death by his sister Jacqueline and his parents.
Bob’s final resting place will be in the Abilene Cemetery with military honor provided by the United States Air Force. Josepha “Jo” Anguiano, 89, went to walk with the Lord Tuesday, November 1, 2016. She was born July 7, 1927 in Abilene, the daughter of Sotero and Eladia (Mendoza) Gil. Growing up in Abilene, Jo attended local schools. On July 21,1947, she was married to Rosario C. “Rosy” Anguiano. All of their married life was spent in Abilene. Jo loved spending time with and cooking for family and friends, enjoying the laughter and entertainment they shared. She also enjoyed gardening, walking, playing Bingo and visiting. Rosy preceded her in death January 22, 1994. Jo was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and former member of the Eagles’ Lodge. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; a son, Bobby; three sisters, Andrea, Pilar and Silveria and five brothers, Theodore, Manual, Lupe, Larry and Vincent.
Jo is survived by: five daughters, twins Anita (Bill) Barnhart and Vanita (David) Castor of Hutchinson, Elizabeth (Dennis) Johnson of Abilene, Theresa (Greg) Stroda of Chapman and Trina (Keith) Ganzenmuller of Salina; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Mazzi of San Francisco Mary Gil Anguiano of Abilene and Mary Ellen Martinez of San Antonio and brother Macario Gil of Abilene. nieces; nephews and other survivors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, November 5th at the St. Andrews Catholic Church with Celebrant Fr. Abraham Panthalanickal. The family has chosen cremation to follow, private family inurnment will be held at a later date. HERINGTON – Annette L. Schmid, 76, formerly of Herington, died Monday, October 31st, 2016, at the Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan. She was born on August 25th, 1940, at Abilene, Kansas, the daughter of Clyde W. and Lois J. (Frohardt) Albers.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, Nov. 4th, 2016, at the Zeiner Funeral Home-Herington Chapel, with Rev. Bill Peterson, officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery of Upland, KS, at 12:30 PM. There will be a visitation with viewing at the funeral home preceding the services at 10:00 AM.
She was a transportation specialist of Personal Property and Passenger Dept. at Ft. Riley. She retired from this position on September 1, 2000. She attended Emporia State University and graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1958.
She is preceded in death by a daughter Michelle Schmid-Fry on July 6, 2003, and by her parents.
She is survived by a daughter Denise Wilson of Herington; a brother Kenneth Albers of Chapman; a sister Jeanette Longhofer of Hutchinson; five grandchildren: Breann Fry, Dylan Wilson, Emmanuel Torres, Jayce Fry, Jeran Fry: and 1 great granddaughter: Anastaria Haynes.

Charles H. Seidl, 94 died on November 1, 2016 at Presbyterian Manor, Sterling. He was born March 5, 1922 in Ellinwood to Karl O. and Anna Zimmer Seidl. He was a Oilfield roustabout for Texaco Oil Company and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On February 5, 1947 he married Berneice J. Decker in Ellinwood, she died on October 24, 2012. He was a Sterling resident since 1981 and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons. Charles F. Carlgren, the son on Edward A. Carlgren and Inga O. (Tiller) Carlgren, was born August 8, 1923 on the family farm in rural Norway, KS and passed away on October 31, 2016 at the family farm in rural Norway, KS at the age of 93 years, 2 months, and 23 days.
Charles grew up in the Norway community, attending Norway Grade School and graduating from Norway High School. Charles was a life time farmer and stockman, working on the family farmstead his entire life.
On August 6, 1950, he was united in marriage Vivian M. Sherwood and to this union was born: Cheryl, Nancy, Lynette, and Jay.
Charles was a lifetime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Norway, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carroll, Ivan, Loren, and Joe; and one sister, Evelyn.
Charles is survived by his wife Vivian of the home Norway, KS; children: Cheryl (Mike) Holmes of Concordia, KS, Nancy (Jeff) McDonald of Salina, KS, Lynette (Dennis) Blomberg of Lindsborg, KS, and Jay (Ashley) Carlgren of Norway, KS; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Aileen Carlgren of Scandia, KS, Norma Carlgren of Salina, KS and Clarice Pruitt of Miltonvale, KS; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Leona (Lee) Reich-Lundy, 101 of Russell, Kansas, died on October 30, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Society in Hays, Kansas.
Lee was born on April 23, 1915, in Hays, Kansas, the daughter to Henry J. and Mary Ann (Hermann) Herman. She grew up in the Gorham and Russell, Kansas, areas and attended local schools. She was united in marriage to Carl Reich on July 20, 1933, in Gorham, Kansas. They lived north of Gorham where they had a wheat and a cattle ranch and raised their daughter Jan, until they moved into Russell in 1979. Carl preceded her in death on April 03, 1983.
When her daughter married, Lee saw a need for consultants on weddings, and in the 1950’s she started her own business, naming it “LeReich Bridal”. Her reputation grew with the knowledge that she would do the best job in the area and soon she was hired to do such things as bank opening and anniversaries, in addition to her wedding consulting and catering. She retired in 1994, but always was a busy woman afterwards.
She met and was united in marriage to A.C. Lundy on August 02, 1987, in Russell. They enjoyed traveling together all the time and enjoyed each other’s company to the fullest. A.C. preceded Lee in death on February 23, 1995, in Hays, Kansas.
Her friend Harry Thowe was a big part of her life for over 20 years. With their companionship they continued her journey in an active life of traveling, playing bridge and enjoying life.
Lee was a member of the Russell Arts Council, Russell Community Theater, Sternberg Museum, BPO Elks Club, Tuesday Afternoon Bridge Club, and a member of Daughters of Isabella and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gorham. She was an avid bridge player and managed to play several times a week, many times winning high.
Surviving family members include her son-in-law Bill Murphy; six grandchildren Deborah Ensminger (Don) of Los Lumas, NM, Carlee Bishop (Sean) of Decatur, GA, Jacqueline Sadowski (Kevin) of Dallas, TX, Annette Comes of Colorado Springs, CO; grandson Spencer Murphy of Russell, Kansas and Ryan Murphy (Angela) of Tenino, WA; nine great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She was precede in death by her parents; two husbands, her only daughter Janice Murphy on July 25, 2015; 3 brothers Alfred, Henry and Rudy Herman and 5 sisters Josephine Thielen, Edna Heslep, Alfreda Sheldon, Berniece Santee and Doris Weigel.
A funeral mass to celebrate Lee’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, November 04, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gorham, Kansas. Burial will follow at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Gorham. A Vigil and Rosary will be held at 7 P.M. on Thursday, November 03, 2016, at the mortuary in Russell. The Rosary will be led by the Daughters of Isabella. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Thursday, November 03 at the mortuary. Memorials may be given to the Russell Senior Center or the Hospice of Hays Medical Center and sent in care of the mortuary. Jamie “Jay” Dee Duff, 59, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away October 19, 2016, in St. Petersburg.
Jamie was born to parents Jay Dee and Gloria K. “Katy” (Maupin) Duff on June 5, 1957 in Russell, Kansas.
His parents divorced and his mother married Stephen T. “Steve” Heinen in 1960. The family lived in Osborne, Kansas and later moved to Russell in 1971, where Jamie attended and graduated from Russell High School. Jamie left Russell and lived in several different states including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida. While in Pennsylvania he met, fell in love with and married Sandra Harter Shade. He and Sandra had one son together, Elijah.
Surviving family include his mother Katy Herrman (Raymond) of Russell, Kansas; son, Elijah Loren Duff of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; brother, Stephen g. Heinen of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Gwenda Kay Radcliffe (Keith) of Meadows Place, Texas and Susanne Yarmer (Verlin) of Russell, Kansas; three nieces, Tina Rye, Kayla Jones (Chris), and Jennie Heinen; four nephews, Craig White, Justin White, Stephen G. II and John Heinen; one grand-niece and three grand-nephews; an uncle, aunts and cousins.
Jamie was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leland Maupin; step-father Steve Heinen; grandmother Ruby (Wallace) Maupin Keller; and father Jay Dee Duff.
A Celebration of Jamie’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic Church of Russell. A private burial of ashes will take place at a later date.
