vet_ffffff7142949_220wHarold Dean Pack, 90, of Salina, passed away Nov. 1, 2016.
He was born Aug. 21, 1926 in Munden.

Harold worked at Sears for 15 years as a Sales Manager, was
a devoted accountant for Graves Truckline for 20 years, and a
veteran of the US Army. Harold enjoyed the beauty of photography
and woodworking.

Harold is survived by: his loving children, sons, Larry Pack and
wife, Patricia, of Orlando, and Loren Pack and wife, Leslie Perez,
of Wichita; and daughter, Lona Foust of Manhattan. Harold is
also survived by: brothers, Don of Belleville, Ray of Salina, Paul
of Medicine Lodge; sister, Norma Beneda, of Belleville;
his beautiful grandchildren, Nick, Gretchen, Jamie, Lisa, Josha,
Chelsea, Tessa, Sean, Lindsay, Alex and Caleb; and his
great-grandchildren, Ben, Nathan, Nicole, Jimmie, Jacob and Sage.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Bert and Bernice (Elliott)
Pack; his wife of 46 years, Lois I. Pack; his daughter, Linda Williams;
his granddaughter, Heather Williams; and his brother, Doyle Pack.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016,
preceding visitation from 10 AM to 11 AM at University United
Methodist Church, 1509 S. Santa Fe, Salina, with Pastor
Geniese G. Stanford officiating.

Memorials may be made to University United Methodist Church
in care of Roselawn Mortuary, P.O. Box 2322, Salina, 67402.

aug61102Leo H. Augustine, 84, Salina, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016. He was born August 16, 1932 in Ransom, Kansas to Mathias and Regina Augustine. He had also lived in Ellis and Oakley. On August 9, 1951, he married Wanda Reager in Salina. For many years, he was the owner and operator of Texaco service stations and the Salina Wrecker Service. After retiring, he enjoyed doing cross stitch for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Oakes. Leo is survived by his wife, Wanda; children Diana (Cliff) Baker, Dennis (Vera) Augustine, Cindy (Roger) Will, and Linda (Kendall) Krause; sisters, Marcella Goodwin, Helen Phillips, and Sister Mary Augustine; brothers, Alvin Augustine, Virgil Augustine, and Irvin Augustine; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a grand dog, Bailey.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, Salina, with Father Keith Weber officiating. Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Ryan Mortuary.

581b5b34915f6WHITEWATER – Victor Hiebert, age 81, passed away November 2, 2016, at Wheat State Manor of Whitewater, Kansas. He was born August 4, 1935, at Goessel, Kansas, the son of Rudolph and Eva (Flaming) Hiebert.  He was a graduate of Walton High School and attended Bethel College.  On June 13, 1957, he was united in marriage to Marilyn J. Refner.  He worked at Gerden’s for over 25 years, then worked for Mennonite Housing for nearly 15 more years prior to his retirement. He was a master at recycling, find a use and re-use of nearly everything.  He was a member of the Federated Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother Virgil Hiebert and a brother Richard Hiebert. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn of Whitewater; his sons: Vic Hiebert and his wife Penny of Park City; and Dave Hiebert of Haysville; brothers: Rudolph Hiebert, Jr. of Walton; and Ron Hiebert of Peabody; 2 grandchildren: Jennifer Archer and Sheridan Marez; 8 great-grandchildren; and 5 step-grandchildren and their families. Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 p.m., Sunday, at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 7, 2016, at the Federated Church, Whitewater. Interment will follow in the Whitewater Cemetery. vet_ffffffbarrettRichard A. Barrett Sr., son of Sidney A. Barrett and Ethel A. (Bowers) Barrett was born May 6, 1928 at Beloit, Kansas and passed away on November 1, 2016 at Belleville, Kansas at the age of 88 years, 5 months and 25 days.
Richard graduated from Beloit High School and Fort Hays State University, with a BS in Music. He was a music teacher, both vocal and instrumental and taught in various Kansas Schools for many years. He served with the United States Army from May 2, 1951 to April 19, 1954.
He was united in marriage to Marilyn Kaye Banister on August 26, 1951 and to this union two children were born, Richard A. and Terri.
He was a life long member of the United Methodist Church, National Education Association, Fort Hays State Alumni association. He received the Golden Apple Teaching award in 1998. He and his wife Kaye were house parents for Youthville for ten years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Ethel Barrett, two sisters, Margaret and Evelyn, two brothers, Leroy and James.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kaye Barrett of Belleville, Kansas, one son, Richard A. (Darlene) Barrett Jr. of Wichita, Kansas, one daughter, Terri (Gary) Ritter of Manhattan, Kansas, five grandchildren, Christopher Ritter, Heath Ritter, Sabrina Ault, Craig Barrett, Madison Barrett, eight great grandchildren, one brother, Robert (Betty) Barrett of Warsaw, Missouri, Nieces and Nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, November 4, 2016, United Methodist Church, Republic, Kansas, conducted by, Pastor Darrell Herde.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, November 4, 2016, Downs Cemetery, Downs, Kansas.
Interment will be in the Downs Cemetery, Downs, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to Family Choice.
