4010648_wlppBonnie Lou (Hines) Parker, 84, formerly of Minneapolis, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 18, 2016 in Salina, Kansas.

She was born July 19, 1932 in Granola, KS to Dorsey and Nola (Crozzier) Hines. On August 20, 1950 she was united in marriage to John Blaine Parker.  The couple moved to Minneapolis, Kansas in 1965. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and The First United Methodist Church in Minneapolis, Kansas

She is survived by her sons, Ronald Parker (Roberta) of Salina, Lonnie Parker (Carol) of Clay Center and Monty Parker (Denise) of Salina; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Dale Hines of Wellington; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 to 7:00 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5-7. Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M., Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to the First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis.

582fa2b18337evet_ffffffWHITEWATER – Jerry L. Potter, age 75, passed away November 17, 2016, at Via Christi – St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas. Born August 10, 1941, he was the second of seven children born of Lloyd and Geneva Imogene (Henson) Potter.  He graduated from Whitewater High School with the class of 1959.  He attended Butler Community College.  On December 23, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Gehring. He was a farmer. He proudly served his country with the United States Army.  He was a founding member of the Centre Point Church in Whitewater.  He was preceded in death by his father, and siblings:  Barbara, Richard, and Donald Potter.  He is survived by his wife Mary of Whitewater; daughters:  Darla “Dede” Roberts and her husband Michael of Greensboro, North Carolina; Kristi Sommers and her husband Jim of Potwin; and Mindy Hill and her husband Darryl of Whitewater;  his mother Imogene Potter of Augusta; brothers:  Charles and wife Marilyn of Mt. Airy, Maryland; Robert and wife Charlotte of Towanda; and Bill Potter of Selma, Alabama; a sister-in-law Wanda Potter of Furley; 6 grandchildren:  Chelsea, Shanna, Travis, Weston, Cole and Taylor;  2 great-grandchildren:  Iris and Lily; and his “fourth” daughter Diane Schrader and her husband Calvin and their family of Lenexa.  Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday, at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater.  The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2016, at the Whitewater Community Church. Interment will follow at Green Valley Cemetery.  A Memorial Fund has been established for the Centre Point Church, in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S Main, Whitewater, KS, 67154.  Online Condolences may be left at www.zeinerfuneralhomes.com.

Sunday, November 06, 2016, at his home in Russell.

Alvin was born on June 07, 1951, in Russell, Kansas, the son of Alvin L. , Sr. and Norma Lee (Kuntzsch) Acheson.  He grew up in the Russell area and attended local schools. He was married to Terry Craven on May 22, 1981 and later divorced.  He worked as a welder and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his mother, sons Justin Acheson of Russell and Aaron Acheson and wife Deana of Russell; daughter Tammy Pellant of Wilson, Kansas; brothers Donald Acheson of Gorham, Kansas, Dan Acheson and wife Peggy of Salina and Terry Acheson and wife Peggy of Salina; 5 grandchildren Joshua, Taylen, Emma, Colton and Joleigh; ex-wife Teri Helwer.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother Robbin Acheson.

A private service will be held at a later date.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
