vet_ffffffDoris Ethel Woodin, 97, of Salina, died Saturday, May 25, 2013. Doris was born Jan. 18, 1916, in Dawson, Neb., the daughter of Elzie and Ethel (Chase) Jellison. She was a bookkeeper for St. Francis Academy from 1953 until she retired on April 30, 1980. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and Moose Auxiliary. Doris married Arlo Henry Woodin on April 21, 1934, in Salina. He died on Nov. 12, 1985.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Jean Jellison.

She is survived by her nephews, Jerry Jellison, of Salina, Doug Jellison, of Castle Rock, Colo., Jim Jellison, of Pattaya, Thailand, and Russ Jellison, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and nieces, Ann Carlin, of Philadelphia, and Marva York, of Kansas City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church, Salina.

Clementine M. Gagnon, 103, of Salina, died Monday, May 27, 2013. She was born March 8, 1910, in St. Joseph to Gilbert and Lillie (Martell) Saulnier.

She married Wilfred (Bill) Gagnon on Feb. 20, 1928. He died Dec. 19, 1973. After residing in Clifton for 57 years, she moved to Drury Place, Salina.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Stella Breault; one brother, Lloyd Saulnier; and a son-in-law, Melvin Padgett.

Survivors include one son, Larry and wife Jeanine Gagnon, of Salina; two daughters, Eloise and husband Hubert De Vries, of Littleton, Colo., and Erma Padgett, of San Diego; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Salina. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church and may be sent to or left in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401.
