Council Grove – Earl R. Wigle, 89, of Council Grove, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017, at Diversicare of Council Grove.
He was born March 18, 1928 in Wilsey, KS, the son of William (Ed) and Josie (Stephenson) Wigle. He served in the Army National Guard. Earl married Virginia Lay on May 3, 1949. They lived in Wilsey until 1988, when they moved to Council Grove. Earl was a farmer and dairyman all his life.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia, brother Robert Wigle, sister Ina Robinson, daughter-in-law Lula Bell Wigle and grandson Darrin Lee.
He is survived by his son Virgil Wigle; daughter Kathryn Miller and husband Jim; grandson Daniel Wigle; and sister Beulah Scholes, all of Council Grove.
A visitation for family and friends will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 29, 2017, with a memorial service following at 11:00 A.M., at Zeiner Funeral Home. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery.
