Charles “Charlie” Joseph Hollerich, 84, was born on the family farm north of Tipton, KS on June 22, 1933, the son of Joseph and Monica Gasper Hollerich. He departed this life in the Mitchell County Hospital Resident Care Center on December 23, 2017.
Charles attended Tipton School and graduated in 1951. Charles married Wilma Senesac on December 29, 1959 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Damar, KS; to this union eight children were born. Charles and Wilma established a dairy farm 3 miles north of Tipton and milked cows from 1964-1995. They also raised cattle and crops from 1959 until they retired from farming in 2006. Charles delivered ElDorado motorhomes and buses from the early 1980s-2011. Charles was a Knights of Columbus insurance agent from 1988-1998. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree Council #1645 and the Robert F. Kennedy 4th Degree Assembly #1552.
Charles is survived by wife Wilma Hollerich of Tipton, KS; Children Robert (Dana) Hollerich of Tipton, KS; Jeffrey (Pamela) Hollerich of Tipton, KS; Phyllis (Robert) Meyer of Andale, KS; Jean (James) Brummer of Cawker City, KS; Charles Hollerich, Jr. of Tampa, FL; Patricia (Shane-deceased) Darnell of Tipton, KS; Sandra (James) Jirak of Udall, KS; Krista (Darin) Russell of Manhattan, KS; 33 Grandchildren; 16 Great-Grandchildren; Siblings Virginia Mullins of Westminister, CO; Beatrice Long of Aurora, CO; Marcena Keating of Junction City, KS; Harold Hollerich of Tipton, KS; Kenneth Hollerich of Fort Worth, TX, and Joseph Hollerich of Tipton, KS. Preceded in death by parents and siblings Katherine Schuetz, Lou Ann Dillner and Carol Kline.
Visitation 5-7pm with Rosary at 7pm on Thursday, December 28th at Tipton Community Center. Mass of Christian Burial 10am, Friday, December 29th at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Tipton, KS. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Tipton Memorial Trust or Mitchell County Residential Care Center.
