Lee Stowell was born November 30, 1931 to Percy and Cecil Stowell on a farm south of Olsburg, Kansas. His sister Lois was born a couple of years later, and they have stayed very close all their lives.
On June 6, 1964 Lee married the girl down the road, Beverly Stoffer. They lived their married life on a farm in the Olsburg area. Lee and Beverly raised Angus cattle, did soil conservation dirt work, and local harvesting. Lee loved running a Cat bulldozer. They had two children, Mary Jane and George. Lee’s pastime was going to auctions for a good visit and bargains. In 2013, Lee moved to Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas. There he was president of the Resident Council and involved in many activities.
Lee passed from this life on March 2, 2018.
He is survived by Beverly Stowell of Beloit; children George Stowell of Chicago, Illinois and Mary Jane (Mike) Finney of Beloit; grandchildren Audrey, Belle, Luke, and Rebecca Finney; and sister Lois (Eugene) Visser of Corning, Kansas.
A celebration of Lee’s life will be March 30 at the American Legion in Olsburg, Kansas from 11 AM to 1 PM. Come and visit the family and share memories of Lee. A private family burial will be held.
