Clik here to view.Carolyn Kay “Powell” Trimble, age 79, left this earthly life on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Mt. Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, KS. She was born on February 7, 1939 in Rural Republic County, KS to Floyd L. Forney & Katherine C. (Brown) Forney.
Carolyn attended Belleville H.S., Belleville, Kansas.
She married Howard L. Powell on December 23, 1956 in Concordia, KS. They moved to Bennington from Concordia in 1973. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1999.
She married Keith Trimble March of 2002 in Concordia, Kansas.
Her memberships include United Church of Bennington, Concordia Wesleyan Church, and Bennington Schools Booster Club.
Carolyn worked for Cloud County Health Department as a Home Health Aide. She also worked at Asbury Hospital, Salina, Kansas as a Physical Therapy Aide. Carolyn worked at USD 240 Bennington School System in the Cafeteria Department. She later owned and operated her own daycare from her own home in Bennington. She also served as an EMT Volunteer in Bennington. Carolyn loved gardening, flowers, reading, and most of all spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Trimble, Concordia, KS.; 2 daughters, Cindy Lott (Curt), Minneapolis, KS.; DeAnn Giefer, Tulsa, OK.; 2 step-daughters, Connie Boley (Mark), Concordia, KS.; Dee Ann McDaniel (Michael), Topeka, KS.; 2 step-sons, Larry Trimble (Carol), Wichita, KS.; Doug Trimble, Salina, KS.; sister, Patti Martin, Omaha, NE.; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great grandchildren, 2 brother-in-laws, Bill Powell, Concordia, KS.; Ron Powell (Marilyn), Guthrie, OK.; sister-in-law, Sharon Larson (Rick), Beloit, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Powell, son, Jon David Powell, parents, 3 sisters, Judith Forney, Betty Youse, Bonnie Wood, sister-in-law, Peggy Powell.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, April 30, 2018 at Concordia Wesleyan Church, Concordia with Pastors David Redman & Bob Burns officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Bennington Cemetery, Bennington, KS with Pastor Anita Strommen officiating. Book signing will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 1:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials Concordia Wesleyan Church in care of the funeral home.
