Isabel P. Chambers

Isabel P. Chambers, 104, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at The Cedars, McPherson. She worked at Kansas Power & Light in McPherson, Kinsley, Clay Center, and Larned. She also worked at Prairie Gardens and retired from Crabb’s Furniture in 1988 where she was a sales clerk.

Isabel was born on August 10, 1913, in Moundridge, KS, the daughter of Claude and Addie (Ringwald) Pack. She graduated from Moundridge High School in 1931. She was united in marriage to Raymond “Ray” W. Chambers on December 24, 1933, in Moundridge, KS. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2002.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a charter member of the Deborah Circle. Isabel enjoyed basketball, needlepoint, bicycling, quilting, and coffee with friends.

Survivors include: son, Royce “R.A.” Chambers and wife, Beth, of Noblesville, IN; daughter, Roxanna “Roxy” Thompson of Corpus Christi, TX; five grandchildren, Libby Clements (Neal), Todd Chambers (Amy), Sam Chambers (Stephanie), Bradley Livermore (Norma), and Phillip Livermore (Linda); 15 great-grandchildren; and good friend, Linda Poulseen of McPherson, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Cleda Stewart, Cleo Pack, Roth Pack, Nick Pack, Amy Bender, and George Pack.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Rice Ratzlaff officiating. Visitation and viewing will be from 2:00 PM until service time on Saturday. Burial will follow the service at Mound Township Cemetery, Moundridge. 

Memorial donations may be given to First United Methodist Church in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
