Colleen Ann Lange was born in Palmer Kansas, attending Linn High School. She married Louis Rhodes in July 1953, becoming a Navy wife. This new adventure took her to Pensacola, Memphis and San Diego before the young couple returned to a farm in Clifton, Kansas with two children – Jeffrey Kent and Randall Alan. Colleen was active with Louis initially in the Clifton Presbyterian Church and then at Brantford Covenant Church for many years. Colleen was a compassionate caregiver, finding time to help with many needs in the family and community. She provided strong and faithful care for Louis following his severe farm accident in 1994. Colleen loved flower gardening and square dancing with friends for many years. Upon retirement in 2004, Louis and Colleen moved to Salina and enjoyed many activities including an antique car club. Louis passed away in 2010 and Colleen lived independently until she relocated in 2016. She lived in Vancouver, Washington where she delighted in her great-grandchildren during these final years.
