Brock Darrel Nichols, 35, of Assaria, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, January 7th, 2015.
Brock was born in Medicine Lodge, Kansas on February 21, 1979, a son of Dana (McNamar) Jacobs and Mike Nichols and wife Diana.
He worked as a custom boot and saddle maker on the family farm.
Brock attended Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology at Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Survivors include son, Landon Ryan Nichols, of Minneapolis, Kansas; Brother, Bart Nichols and wife, Crystal, of Canyon, Texas; Grandparents, Carl and Lois Nichols of Salina and Darrel and Winona McNamar of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; Nieces, Madilynn, Cole and Teal Nichols of Canyon, Texas; Uncles; Jerry McNamar and wife, Patricia of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, Joe Nichols and wife, Dianne of Canyon, Texas, and Scott Nichols and wife, Diana of Assaria, Kansas.
Funeral Service will be held at Mentor United Methodist Church, Mentor, Kansas, at 1:30 PM on Saturday, January 10th, with Pastor Linda Kusse-Wolf and Pastor Bill Newman officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 9th, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Carlson – Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Kansas High School Rodeo Association, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina, Kansas 67401.

Virginia Lee Nelson, 89, of Salina, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015. She was born April 15, 1925, near Delphos, the daughter of Pete and Mildred (Somers) Felt.
Virginia attended the Cloud County schools of Meredith and Mt. Washington. She graduated from Delphos High School in 1942 and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, in Concordia, in 1945. She married Raymond Farel Nelson on Aug 1, 1946. Virginia worked as a registered nurse at Mowery Clinic for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and granddaughter, Rhonda Creech.
She is survived by her daughter, Kevin Raye Creech and her husband, I.D.; grandson, Richard Creech; two great-grandsons, Connor and Daven Creech; cousins and best friends, Jim and Janet McKain; and many very special cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, with the family greeting visitors, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
Cremation was chosen and burial of the ashes will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, near Concordia. Memorials are to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Gordon A. Gardiner, 90, of Salina, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015. He was born Sept. 27, 1924, in South Kingstown, R.I., the son of George A. and Louise (Boldt) Gardiner.
He married Mary Anne McConahay, from New Jersey, in 1949.
Gordon graduated from South Kingstown High School in 1942. He was a veteran of World War II. He graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1953 with a M.S. degree in psychology. He was a licensed psychologist in Kansas. He worked at Larned State Hospital, Central Kansas Mental Health Center, of Salina, Southwest Guidance Center, of Liberal, and he retired from Saint Francis Academies, of Salina, after serving 27 years. He was a member of the original governing board of OCCK and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina.
Gordon was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church. He was an active member of the Diocese of Western Kansas and Episcopal Church of the Incarnation. He served on several local boards, diocesan boards and committees.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Anne Gardiner; his sons, Gordon A. Gardiner Jr. and David C. Gardiner; and his sister, Patience E. Walters.
He is survived by his children, John E., of Salina, Margery L. and husband Donald Good, of Salina, Gary G. and wife Darlene, of York, S.C., Christlieb E. and wife Julie, of Salina, and Heidi A. and husband Keith Eschliman, of Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and four great-granddaughters.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Christ Cathedral, 138 S. Eighth, Salina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Cathedral, St. Francis Community Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina or OCCK, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Ruth Pauline Anderson Parker, 85, of Salina, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2015. Ruth was born July 11, 1929, in Beverly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Keith Parker; son, Robert Craig Parker; and daughters, Ruth Ann and Rhonda Lee.
She is survived by her sister, Bonnie, and brother, Raymond, both of Salina, and brother, Ivan, of Topeka; sons, Kyle and Kim, of Andover, and Kevin and Valerie, of Wichita; daughter in-law, Gerry, of Salina; grandchildren, Angie and Jay Babcock, of McPherson, Chelsea and Rick Bonilla, of Salina, Sydney and Hannah Parker, of Andover, and Dillon and Denver Parker, of Wichita; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Babcock and Holly and Ethan Bonilla.
