Obituaries 13 January, 2015

2902943_wlppMary G. Baccus, daughter of Everett H. and Grace (Meiller) Bradbury was born September 8, 1926 in Ada. She passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Nicol Home, Glasco.

 

On May 18, 1943 she was united in marriage to Kay Van Ness Baccus in Minneapolis. They farmed in the Ada vicinity until Kay’s illness. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1968.

 

Mary was a member of the Ada Antioch Baptist Church and was Deaconess and held several offices in the church. She served as president and vice president of the A.B.W. and taught Sunday school for many years. Mary worked at the ASCS office in Minneapolis for several years.

 

Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by her two sons, Larry and Doug Baccus; daughter-in-law Linda Baccus; brother Bill Bradbury and her sister Phyllis Adam.

 

Survivors include her daughter Jolene Lantz and husband Greg of Salina; daughters-in-law Janice Baccus and Brenda Baccus both of Ada; brother Bob Bradbury of Brookville; sisters Jeanne Sechrist, Eva Peterson, and Peggy Hofflinger all of Minneapolis; grandchildren Kala Bruce and husband Jason, Jason Baccus and wife Bobbi, Ryan Lantz (Stephanie), Kay Baccus and wife Amy, Jason Lantz (Jeannine), Matt Lantz, Colby Bertrand and wife Crystal, Shane Bertrand and wife Danee, and Mindy Baccus (Eric Harkness); and great-grandchildren Taylor Bruce, Alex and Chris Phillips, Ashton Baccus, Tyler, Ella, Easton, and Parker Lantz, Colter and Carter Bertrand, and Kayson and Lily Bertrand; a great-great grandchild who hasn’t been born yet; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 16 at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Ada. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ada Antioch Baptist Church.

Florence E. Ablard, 97, Delphos, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 17 at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Delphos. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina, Ottawa County Health Center, or the donor’s choice.
